Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) will not seek reelection in 2018, BuzzFeed News reported Wednesday morning.
Chaffetz, the House Oversight Committee chairman, played a key role in investigating Hillary Clinton during the presidential campaign. But he has resisted probing President Trump over the potential for him to profit from the presidency, noting that Trump is "already rich."

He runs the oversight committee and with the number of investigations that are coming of Trump he just didn’t want to have to deal with the challenge of impeding them.

Being continually beaten down by lawless democrats who are in the minority has to take a toll on a person.

Governor, probably. Apparently he isn’t interested in being in DC any longer, and has wanted to get back to the Governor’s mansion all along. He was Huntsman’s chief of staff.
Stepping down to cash in somehow?

Conservatives are supposed to be for Congressional term limits. 2-3 terms is enough for one person.
To: GIdget2004
Maybe he is trying to get ahead of the curve to stave off a Mittens run for the Senate.
To: exit82
Hopefully he’ll be a real bad ass since he won’t have to worry about being re-elected.
