The most competitive special Congressional election yet has arrived, and we will be providing returns live tonight right here. In addition to our district-wide totals, we will be analyzing county and precinct level returns. For the Democrats, the hope is that Jon Ossoff can pull out an outright win tonight- if he gets over 50% of the vote in this crowded field, he’s in as the district’s new Representative in Congress. If he falls short, then he will face off against one of four likely Republican opponents in a runoff on June 20th: Karen Handel, Bob Gray, Judson Hill, or Dan Moody. Polls close at 7pm and we anticipate at least early vote tallies to begin rolling in shortly thereafter. Refresh this page for the latest results tonight out of Georgia.
Fulton Co. had problems early this morning with their voting machines. They had to open the polls late. A judge allowed them to stay open an extra hour (to 8:00 pm ET).
Apparently, GA has a law that requires polls to be open 12 hours.
Yes. There will be a runoff. D will come in at 46-48%, and had to be over 50%.
The combined Rs will coalesce behind (hack) Handel and beat him.
I guess not, lol. Still, I've always thought Republicans were better than 'RATs overall in off year elections. They tend to be smarter, more informed voters in general. Most democRATs I know of are just interested in free stuff, with the government running everything. Frightening.

I actually didn't realize Karen Handel was "Trump's pick". Interesting.
Republicans generally are. They are also NOT emotionally invested in this election as the Rats are. Again, its a good wake up call IMO for the repubs to see what will happen if they dont wisen up and start listening to their base.
Both My parents, all my siblings, my spouse and all our children vote Republican AND our just graduated son's soon to be Fiance AND her entire family vote Republican also.
None of us stomachs demo-commie-rats/ traitor Americans very well.
That said, November 8th, 2016 was as jubilant as any Christmas or Thanksgiving in our house....

I agree with you about Nov 8th. I still regularly go and look up youtube videos of election night and cant seem to get enough of the schadenfreude :)
Hmmm, Southern end of the district is heavily Dem, which parts of Fulton are not reporting? Could be the Dems are holding back, maybe employing the River Ward Cheat strategy.
