The UC Davis student senate has made it optional to display the American flag at its meetings, stirring up controversy on campus and conservative blogs.
Senate Bill 76 passed Thursday, said Michael Gofman, a student senator who opposed the change.
The bill amends bylaws that required the United States flag to be on display at every senate meeting of the Associated Students, University of California, Davis.

UC Davis Aggies - Wikipedia

The UC Davis Aggies ... The official school mascot is the mustang. Students at UC Davis are referred to as Aggies in honor of the school’s agricultural heritage.
They want it all their way.
They want to force homosexual/pervert “rights” on us, yet they think they should have “options” for themselves
Then stop giving UC Davis students American grant/loan money, for their (likely) freebie college. Our hard earned, AMERICAN tax dollars are TOO political!
Along with the same fate for Berkeley and Stanford. Sanity at California universities is at an extreme shortage, especially those in the Bay Area or Silicon Valley.
How UCD describes their MASCOT is up to them. They
CHOSE the term Aggie to describe THEMSELVES. And
they are NOT Mustangs, no way, no how. To conflate
names when the proximity of UCD and CPSU as well as
the athletic history between the two throws
more heat than light on any issue.
You forgot to mention the Rainbow Flag.
The Faggies would be more appropriate
On government-subsidized loans as well; they resent the hand that feeds - but gorge themselves nonetheless. When Otoken was president, the US was a shining beacon for the world to follow - remember that?
Our permanent malcontent caste ensures smart people should always have a job (unless foreigners are imported to do them); these pathetic young people (I’m not generalizing, but referring to this group at this school) will never work as hard as grown-ups (even when they’re forty years old).
At whose option?
“And, the toxic damage that they do this once-great UC Davis Campus is as immense as it is irredeemable.”
When we moved to N. Cal in the early 1970’s, UC Davis was a great university. Their discrimination towards Asians was a dirty/dark secret.
In the mid 70’s the company wanted me to relocate to Sac., and we could live in Davis if we wanted. My wife was interested because of the University.
One of my friends and a local sales rep in the Sac area and old time Democrat warned me about how liberal the city was with people working at the university or a state job in Sac..The realtor, we were using told us Davis was very liberal and basically anti church. She directed us to a nice and isolated conservative neighborhood in Sac..
The university and city are as bad if not worse than Bezerkley. Most UC Davis grads are miserable and terrible people.
Two of our younger relatives, who hire and fire have cancelled their intern programs with Davis semi students.
We have neighbors with two children at UC Davis, and they don’t really want to discuss what’s happening there.
The parents are in their 50’s and have degrees from Davis before it started its descent into PC hell.
The Cal Aggie Mustangs have fallen off the cliff.
