I haven’t had hair long enough to grab since I worked in both corrections and a mental institution. First by design, now by *ahem* nature.

In the mid sixties I worked in a ny state mental hospital as an attendant. At the time short hair for men was more than the norm. In the late 60’s it was beginning to be the long hair era. By then I was out of working in the bug house. But yeah. Long hair would have been a bad thing when one of my charges would have gone off his Thorazine.
If they’re from Amsterdam, my guess is they may or may not have visited the US, but they’ve most definitely met hundreds of American douche bag pot & sex tourists.
