I’m a NYer and I agree with him.
Never liked lincoln. Still don’t
Throw starving Irish into the war straight off the boat but for 300 bucks, you’re SAFE! :)
sounds fair.
GTFO insulting the FIRST Republican President.
Completely agree with him. Too bad it will probably cost him his career.
You know, I understand having conflicting views about Lincoln. However, how incredibly stupid for a politician to spew such noxious garbage to the public. Nothing positive can come out of it.
Why are these neo-Confederates in the Republican Party at all?
Sic Semper Tyrannis. Lincoln and Caesar the destroyers of republics.
I’m smart enough not to say a lot of things I think. Too bad this guy isn’t that smart.
Hitler had people taken off the street for: Race, religion, undesirable, homosexual... had them put in boxcars and sent to extermination camps. He wanted to kill every Jew in Germany. He implemented a plan that made a big dent toward that goal.
Lincoln at worst disagreed with people and tried to enforce his mistaken impression of what was right or wrong via war.
There is a massive difference.
The South disagreeing with Lincoln also waged war to prevail asserting their views.
Facebook will get you in trouble!
Pittman 2024 for U.S. President!
Oh lord, not this “war of northern aggression” crap again.
CC
I guess it is safe to assume that he will not be attending next year’s Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner.
Lincoln hated blacks almost like Hitler hated jews.
Hitler was worse because of the death camps.
But Lincoln bombed the black’s towns and homesites.
And had he lived, blacks would have been loaded on to boxcars, and shipped to Africa.
Pittman created a slight breach of Godwin’s Law by skipping the preliminaries and going right for the throat.
If one truly reads the history of Lincoln’s actions with an open mind, one finds Lincoln not the rosy honorable President that the school history books made him out to be. He did make some monumental decisions during a turbulent era in our Nation’s history that changed the interpretation of the Constitution.
Only an idiot would make such a pronouncement.
Why even put Lincoln into discussion of same-sex marriage? This lawmaker detracts from the fight in this very important moral issue by inserting his very marginal viewpoint on Lincoln. It takes away from the real fight, allows the opponents to deflect the discussion and is yet another piece of evidence the left can use to portray conservative as lost cause-obsessed.
A jack@$$ of a Rep. Hopefully we find a better replacement.
Nope.
