Sens. Lindsey Graham and John McCain released a joint statement on Tuesday urging President Donald Trump to bolster ground efforts in Syria.
"As part of a broader strategy, we urge the President to take greater military action to achieve our objectives, including grounding the Syrian air force and establishing safe havens inside Syria to protect Syrians, the statement reads.
There will never be a diplomatic solution as long as Assad dominates the battlefield, according to McCain, the Senate Armed Services Committee chairman, and Graham, who chairs an appropriations subcommittee.

After watching the documentary “Cries from Syria” I’ve changed my mind on our involvement. I’m not sure what it needs to be but way too many women and children have been killed by Russia and Assad. Bombing schools and hospitals. Syria is not Iraq.
What you said x 1,000. We also have a sorry, sorry track record for intervention and regime change in the Middle East. Half measures, incompetence, loss of billions through corruption and waste, not doing what it takes to achieve objectives as quickly as possible, and then a president’s successor takes office and reverses, weakens or gives away what positive gains the prior president did manage to achieve. A colossal waste of military and civilian lives and the taxpayers’ money.
If McCain and Graham are so brave let them go there and fight for whatever it is they want.
I presume you’re against the policy of replacing one set of barbarians with another set of barbarians.
Yes! at least secular Barbarians kill Muslim barbarians.
YES!
Well, besides me. I was told in a dream that I would be the one to lead them into modern times so I’m heading out to Jordan next week.
I should probably take into account that i skipped my meds the past few days...
I still admire McCain and Graham’s service. McCain should have picked Graham in 2008, but that’s another story. They are crazy on Syria though. No ground troops. NONE.
Graham Doing What He Does Best
There are NO heroes rising in the ME to take those folks into the 21st century.
Both Graham and McCain have been very angry in committee even under Obama that troops hadn’t been sent in....I don’t expect their tune to change with Trump either...they are warmongers....and besides not their kids being sent in.
The SC GOP rigs our primaries. Probably the same in AZ. There’s a reason the Establishment was so sure that Bush/Clinton would win—they thought they had it rigged—and the same way: dilute the field with lots of candidates.
If a handful of really conservative candidates got together and decided to outsmart the GOPe, they could all declare for Graham’s senate seat and trick the GOPe into thinking the field was sufficiently diluted.
Then have all but one drop out, as secretly prior arranged, and all endorse the sole remaining conservative. This would have to be at a point in time when it would be too late for the GOPe to “re-dilute” it.
The names would still be on the ballot, and Graham would still get the plurality. We will need some help—from the WH.
Yes, no doubt. If DJT put out a #45 Approved List of Candidates, it would be very helpful.
Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval = Trump Seal of Approval!
Also, they need to make commercials describing how the libs do this to conservatives each time, so as to enlighten those not paying attention.
Ive got something in my front pocket for you,
Why dont you reach down in my pocket, and see what it is
