China Warns North Korea Situation Has Hit "Tipping Point", Threatens "Never Before Seen" Measures
Zerohedge ^ | April 12, 2017 | Tyler Durden

After warnings yesterday, and on the heels of a "very good call" with President Trump, China has escalated its threats to North Korea over its nuclear tests. In another Global Times op-ed, China warns "if the North makes another provocative move this month, the Chinese society will be willing to adopt severe restrictive measures that have never been seen before..."

Yesterday's editorial in the military-focused Global Times tabloid, owned and operated by the Communist Party's People's Daily newspaper, said that North Korea’s nuclear activities must not jeopardize northeastern China, and that if the North impacts China with its illicit nuclear tests through either "nuclear leakage or pollution", then China will respond with force.

China invades NK and annexes the territory. What would the US and SK do?

Would we care? China would improve the lot of the NKoreans. Rule by china would be no worse than rule by Chiahead. The nukes would be safer. And NKorea would probably be an economic drain to China for at least a decade.

Very impressed with how far Trump has brought the Chinese in such a short time. Good relations with the Chinese are vital to stability in the region.

More progress in three months regarding NK than the last four presidents combined.

Chinese troops in the rear are not issued gloves but are instructed to don the gloves of the dead troop in front of them

And the last thing China wants is SK to expand to the entire peninsula. So if they want to keep their little buffer zone intact, they’d better replace Fatboi with someone who they can control, and who is sane.

Nor does China want millions flooding into NW China, hence the deployment of the troops to that area.

Why would SK be a threat to China? That's assuming the US was out of the picture on the Peninsula.

This is an interesting approach: “IMHO, it needs to be divided up, like Germany, after WWII. China, Russia, the US and South Korea each get a Sector to administer. It will take at least a generation until reunification is feasible.”

Give them a really tiny sector proportional to their really tiny border.

That’s how Trump rolls, it’s not about getting 100% of what you want, it’s about getting a deal that makes both sides happy.

It is amazing how many people and Freepers don't understand this concept.

North Korea is far worse off than East Germany was. I didn’t say it wouldn’t work, I said it would be extremely difficult.

Reunification would be a huge burden on SK but I’m sure they already have plans drawn up for just such a happy event. After all, it has been their national goal for longer than most of us have been around.

I would expect SK businesses to jump in first. There is a lot of cheap labor in the North just dying (literally) for rewarding work. Send in the farmers right behind them.

China wants a solution that allows them to save face.

Yep. North Korea has always been China's little yapping chihuahua on a leash. Good for a distraction and even a little ankle biting now and then. But now with the fat boy's nukes actually exploding and his ballistic missiles actually not exploding on the launch pad - that little chihuahua is on the verge of turning into a badass Rotweiller.

You brought it on yourselves Chinamen. Now ride that tiger!

BOL! Reality can be such a B$tch!:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but are all those Nork guns, buried in underground bunkers, with a limited field of fire, and registered on targets in the RoK, are now pointed the wrong way?

At last count, that was 175,000 PLA troops on standby across the Yalu. Could be a little clumsy...

China is there, they can handle this, besides we have the battleships there to back them up if needed...

All our battleships are museums now.
