The FBI obtained a secret court order last summer to monitor the communications of an adviser to presidential candidate Donald Trump, part of an investigation into possible links between Russia and the campaign, law enforcement and other U.S. officials said.
The FBI and the Justice Department obtained the warrant targeting Carter Pages communications after convincing a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court judge that there was probable cause to believe Page was acting as an agent of a foreign power, in this case Russia, according to the officials.
This is the clearest evidence so far that the FBI had reason to believe during the 2016 presidential campaign that a Trump campaign adviser was in touch with Russian agents. Such contacts are now at the center of an investigation into whether the campaign coordinated with the Russian government to swing the election in Trumps favor.

Pretty much, in a nutshell.
Exactly what was this guys position with the Trump group? For how long?
“after convincing a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court judge that there was probable cause to believe Page was acting as an agent of a foreign power”
Please show us the probable cause.
No WP, it’s the clearest evidence to date that the FBI was in on the political spying.
Exactamundo. (A little Spanish lingo for the Cuban.)
Trump needs to fire Comey, ASAP.
O.K. You’re right. But the principle is the same. Give a judge a line of BS about Russian spies, and then use the warrant to surveil everybody and their pet monkey.
Clearest evidence that the O administration abused its power criminally.
feh...
Page briefly served as a foreign policy adviser to Trumps campaign, though he split from the campaign before the election and the White House says the president has no relationship with him.
More unnamed sources supposedly providing classified information to the press. What BS. It is past time that, if the FISA warrants exist, that they and all the filings used to request them were made public. This has been kicked around so much, for so long, that the only reason to still keep any of it classified is protect the guilty.
The NSA is allowed 2 hops from a target. If the guy used a bank used by Trump, then the bank would be the first hop and then ANYBODY that also used the bank would be the 2nd hop.

IOW, by selective targeting they can say it’s a “legal” surveillance because there was a foreign conversation that started it.
Or if a foreigner talked to a bank Trump uses, they could “legally” say everyone Trump talks to was collectible.
Corey Lewandoski said this guy was never officially with the campaign and just sort of associated himself with them.
“Reason to believe” is clear evidence?
Only if you are a liberal rag like the Washington Post.
You are supposed to have more than reason to believe to get a warrant.
I have reason to believe Hillary killed 40 people. Or was it 80?
So the Post is going to go get her. Right?
I have reason to believe there are enemy subs off both coasts ready to launch missiles.
Since I believe that, we should declare war?
The rot we get from the swamp press is disgusting.
They can't. They have to protect her privacy /s.
“So a temporary very minor campaign advisor who never even met with Trump and who has never even been alleged to have committed any crime is the center of this whole b.s. meme of Russia and Trump??????”
Exactly! This man was a minor player in the Trump campaign and never briefed Trump.
DEMs - if that is all you’ve got. Game over.
Closest proof that Trump was spied on for democrats going back to maybe birther days.
You are wrong. Court order. Agent of foreign power is allowed. That is what they called him
