North Korea Threatens U.S. With Nuclear Attack At Any Sign Of Pre-Emptive Strike

With the USS Carl Vinson carrier group steaming toward the Korean peninsula for what some speculate may be to launch a "decapitation" strike on the Kim Jong-Un regime, on Tuesday North Korean state media threatened the US with a nuclear attack at any sign of a U.S. pre-emptive strike, and warned it is ready for "war" as Washington tightened the screws on the nuclear-armed state.

North Korea's official Rodong Sinmun newspaper said the country was prepared to respond to any aggression by the United States. "Our revolutionary strong army is keenly watching every move by enemy elements with our nuclear sight focused on the U.S. invasionary bases not only in South Korea and the Pacific operation theatre but also in the U.S. mainland," it said.

The North's foreign ministry, in a statement carried by its KCNA news agency, said the U.S. navy strike group's approach showed America's "reckless moves for invading had reached a serious phase".

"We never beg for peace but we will take the toughest counteraction against the provocateurs in order to defend ourselves by powerful force of arms and keep to the road chosen by ourselves," an unidentified ministry spokesman said.

Tensions escalated sharply over the past week on the Korean peninsula with talk of imminent military action by the United States gaining traction following its strikes last week against Syria and amid concerns the reclusive North may soon conduct a sixth nuclear test.

I hate to think of what you would need as proof to believe that they have developed a deliverable nuclear weapon.

It was insane to wait until they had them. It will only get worse.

"North Korea Threatens U.S. With Nuclear Attack At Any Sign Of Pre-Emptive Strike"

What makes them think they'd even see it coming?

If we knocked down one of their missiles lil kims head would explode. Poor little fat fella would die of a heart attack and china would blame us for poison or something.

Basically President Trump is telling china: Keep poking that sharp stick of NK in our face and we’ll use it for firewood.

A test that registered as a clear nuke signature, rather than the muddled, lower frequency HE component.

I used to have a better seat, but am now retired.

A preemptive NUCLEAR strike is the ONLY way to deal with the crazy North Koreans and PROTECT the South Koreans.

Huh. If only their military was strong enough to revolt.

"Well, THAT doesn’t sound good."

Listening to a guy who lived in North Korea (I think as a Russian advisor) , and wrote a book on it - if the NORKS feel threatened they will go all-in with nothing to lose. They are far from rational, will take down as much and as many as they can.

But you’ve got Chinese generals in on the NK defense. IMO such not-quite-together trials serve China’s purposes perfectly as a proxy threat, but not too great or imminent a proxy threat. If it came to any real damage, you can be assured that they would have all that they need in terms of nuke firepower—the Chinese could assure that.

Now think about that for a moment. What support mechanism would the Norks have for a sub off San Diego? Zip, zero, nadda. As for subs off San Diego, we are at a much larger threat of the drug runners in their almost subs which are regularly being caught or scuttled once detected.

I ask:

What is Australia’s “Threat Level” now?
L’il Kim-Un can reach the Auzzies better than he can reach Cali [but then, would we miss Cali?]
What is the US “Terrorist Threat Level” now?

Uh....NOPE!

China is NOT giving Kim nukes!

They just refused coal shipments from NK.

Keep telling yourself that—I don’t think that is a credible position. Of course China is pretending a 10-arms distance, otherwise there would be no point in channeling threats through a proxy.

the whole problem with this situation is there is no way to eliminate 100% of the North Korean threat to South Korea or Japan in a single strike unless it is absolutely MASSIVE.

If we decide to hit them militarily we better have a huge amount of assets on site and do it in a big league way right out of the gate or be prepared for South Korea, and possibly US troops to take a pretty intense barrage in response.

I have no doubt we could annihilate the North Koreas military but I don’t know if we have the will or the assets available to do it all at once and anything less WILL be responded to by them.

With nukes we all are on point.

N. Korea and Iran are actively threatening their neighbors with nukes.

Those are not rational pronouncements.

Iran’s insanity comes from a crazy set of beliefs. N Korea’s from an unstable leader & leadership.

I would love to see that fat bastard Kim on his knees. Then put him behind bars in a public place, and let his people tell him how they really feel. Then starve the fat bastard to death slowly! I love the feeling of victory in the morning!

Hey pal, I’m not denying the story. I am saying you are naive to think that China isn’t guiding the Norks militarily and could assure that they have whatever level of nuclear competence, if/when it came to that, that would be needed.
