For CNN, it took a war and pointed, globalist "rhetoric" for Trump to become President of the United States. Per CNN host Fareed Zakaria on "New Day" this morning:
“I think Donald Trump became president of the United States last night. I think this was actually a big moment."
"Candidate Trump had said that he would never get involved in the Syrian civil war. He told President Obama you can not do this without the authorization of Congress. He seemed unconcerned with global norms."
"President Trump recognized that the President of the United States does have to act to enforce international norms, does have to have this broader moral and political purpose. President Trump realized, as every president has for many decades now, that they have inherent legal authority as commander-in-chief and they don't have to go to a pesky Congress every time they want military force."
“For the first time really as president, he talked about international norms, international rules, about America’s role in enforcing justice in the world. It was the kind of rhetoric that we've come to expect from American presidents since Harry Truman, but it was the kind of rhetoric that President Trump had pointedly never used either on the campaign trail nor in his inaugural."
"So I think there has been an interesting morphing and a kind of education of Donald Trump."
A message of fealty and submission to the entrenched DC neocon swamp that he once talked about draining.
So why did he bomb the guy who was bombing the terrorists?

Sending missiles is making them stop supporting Trump?
I do not see us sending significant troops to the ME. To me President Trump made a very strategic move to shut down enemies who believed he would not act if provoked, sent a clear signal he was not aligned with Putin, and sent a signal that he will act decisively and not use hollow words.
Now, he needs to do something about Ryan.
The deal was signaled loud and clear when the twin neos Insane & Linda voted to remove the filibuster. Now we have Gorsuch confirmed, and a real likelihood of not having just another, but two more conservative SC justices during Trump's first administration.
(Yeah, first. Now that he's willing to do the Deep state's bidding with respect to foreign policy, he's practically a shoe-in for a 2nd term. Imagine the composition of the SC after 8 years of Trump.)
Now, wouldn't you agree that's a pretty good deal? Who here will be surprised that the wall is funded, ICE round-ups expand, the SC upholds presidential authority on travel restrictions, etc?
The hardest life lesson to learn is to realize you don't count. You don't have a voice, you don't have a say. Oh, it may seem that way (because that's the way the game is rigged), but in the end, even a guy like Trump had to concede to reality. He can talk big and bluster his way into the office, but the people who control the game were just waiting for a chance to yank his chain.
Look, I don't blame him. He saw what was happening with the MSM, he knew evidence could be fabricated for impeachment. In that regard, he's pretty bright - it only took him 2-3 months to fully realize the situation. So, he made a smart move - let the empire continue to pursue global war, and he could have his domestic agenda on a platter.
In the end, we win domestically, which is really what effects most people.

Too soon to say. Way too soon. If the deal was to strike syria..then okay.
if the deal is for more reaching...like screw us over on daca..healthcare etc..thats another story.
And Assad used them in Khan Shaykhun against the al-Qaeda supported Fateh al-Sham Front. Remember al-Qaeda? If I recall, weren't they some bad hombres? Now we're crying that a few of them got gassed?
War is hell and I’ll bet I can find some photos of dead Christian children that the al-Qaeda-backed fathers of those dead kids have killed.
I see dual message :
to Syria- if you have chemical weapons secure them.
If you are ISI or whatever flavor -there are some weapons that should not be used.

I do hope that the president takes wise and measured steps to avoid inflicting unnecessary harm to our warriors as this mess is navigated.
I hope they have a really good strategy, if the gov gets serious on Syria.
If he had not done anything about Syria the libs would have considered it proof he was elected because the Russians backed him.

I happen to strongly disagree with this premise. Although I understand why the President sent missiles to Syria, candidate Trump had it exactly right. The office is President of the United States, not Sheriff of the World. The globalists want a global Sheriff so they can keep making money and to hell with right and wrong.

What other world ‘crisis’ should the U.S. be engaged? Didn’t know we’d need worry ‘bout ‘Syrian refugees’...as if any far-flung conflict creates a ‘vital National interest’ to go dumping U.S. time/taxpayer $$ and blood\lives into. How ‘bout the next hurricane that hits Haiti or the like, any difference??
Why is it an airstrike, against any other country, NOT an ‘act of war’, but reverse the roles and you damn well believe it would be?

You missed the point, it’s the liberals at CNN who are cheering him on - along with Schumer, Pelosi, Hillary etc.
