Evidence Calls Western Narrative About Syrian Chemical Attack Into Question
Zero Hedge ^ | 4.6.17 | William Craddick

Posted on 04/06/2017 10:03:02 PM PDT by pissant

The April 4th, 2017 incident at Khan Sheikhoun has provoked an emotional response around the world after images began to emerge showing civilian adults and children apparently suffering from the effects of chemical weapons. President Donald Trump has stated that the attack has totally changed his views towards the Syrian civil war, and may alter his intended strategy there.

Although Western media immediately accused Bashar al-Assad of participating in a gas attack against his own people, the evidence indicates that the intended target was not immediately in a civilian area and was in fact a location where Syrian White Helmets were on the scene with rebel groups at what observers have claimed was a storage facility for conventional and chemical munitions. Additionally, evidence indicates that rebel groups may have had prior knowledge of the attack and knew that there was a risk of chemical weapons being unleashed. The attack also came in the aftermath of a trip by Senator John McCain to meet with groups known to associate with radical jihadist factions in Syria, at a time when the United States government has been engulfed in a power struggle between different political factions who disagree strongly over what should be appropriate policy in regards to the Syrian civil war.

Evidence which has emerged in the aftermath of the attack at Khan Sheikhoun indicates that not only was the nature of the attack misreported by the media, but that certain individuals on the ground in Syria may have had foreknowledge of the attack up to several days before it happened. On April 3rd, 2017, an anti-Assad journalist tweeted that the next day he would be launching a media campaign to cover airstrikes on the Hama countryside, including the use of chemical weapons.

Bannon’s dismissal was the first bad sign.

Please tell me you don’t believe half the stuff you just wrote. The Syrian Army has taken large swaths of territory back from Isis & al Nusra, including Palmyra, Deir Ezzor, Aleppo, & Kawkab. True, they don’t differentiate which terror groups they attack, but attack they have, and “Isis” has suffered mightily.

Russia also bombed the crap out of Raqqa, but you knew that.

I think Trump saw an incredible opportunity here, to project power and resolve, right at a most opportune time, while meeting with what is arguably the most important leader that Trump needs to make an impression on in the world.

I have to remain sober, like my tag. We brought Trump to the dance, I'm sticking by him.

“You naively believe the CIA can’t manipulate anything it wants.”

I never said that. Nice try though. I pointed out that the radar track intel was released by the military, not the CIA.

“Neo cons like through their teeth and maybe this one time they got Trump to believe them.”

Or he made his own decision based upon what he himself saw and this time the neocons happen to like what he did. Why do you assume the decision didn’t originate with Trump?

“Yesterday, ALL OF YOU said it was IMPOSSIBLE for assad to be so stupid now you’re all sure, POSTIIVE HE DID IT”

Show me where I said anything like that. Take all the time you need.

“I’ve been called enough things tonight ...”

I didn’t call you any names. Just asked you to defend your statements.

I flipped out when I first heard, but the more quantity I read has me thinking we should trust Trump at this point.

Little things like Russia’s official statements sounding a bit phoned in.

And of course Israel saying they were given the heads up, and that they know it was Syria gassing their own.

I am willing to wait and see.

Listen, I could be wrong. Its happened thousands of times before.

I hope that after tonight all the vitrol thrown both ways dissipates.

It is but one situation out of thousands that will happen over the next hopefully 8 years.

But being told my posts since I’ve joined have let some discover a horrible personal secret about me is beyond the pale.

I wish they would have told me what it was though :)

I DONT WANT WAR WITH RUSSIA. OR DEAD AMERICANS IN SYRIA.

That much i do know.

And why couldn’t Israel or W Europe, if they were so upset, carry out the attack?

ah, we could go in circles for hours.

Have a good night guys

Well there is always the nuke option. Just realize that the people voted for a something and got something else. So, unless the government of Syria did it, and the administration never cared about the investigation, and The United States JUST VIOLATED INTERNATIONAL LAW ANYHOW, WE ARE NOT FREE PEOPLE ANYMORE.

You are free if you simply refuse to cooperate. That's the nuke option.

BTW, Alexander Solzhenitsyn predicted that Americans would loose their freedom almost 40 years ago.

You should have compassion for the guy who insulted you tonight because he is the one most likely to be hurt by all this.

I hadn’t run across that idea but there were was certainly a motive for the attack and maybe that’s it.

I have heard that there is a Sunni-Shiite power struggle going on in Syria that isn’t getting widely reported in the Western press. The Russians are involved in this, facilitating a Shiite crescent in the region. This has something to do with their own internal Muslim population. It’s a complex issue and all the players in the region including Saudi Arabia are arming groups in Syria.

I can’t help but think that the President was more or less railroaded by our own intelligence agencies, the media and the neo-cons.

The same 17 intelligence agencies that supposedly say President Trump colluded with the Russians but never offered any proof?

I wouldn’t trust them as far as I could throw them with a broken arm.

Turkish doctors treating the victims identified the agent as sarin.

Chlorine is an irritant that in confined spaces can kill. Not likely in open air. Sarin is a nerve gas that kills by paralyzing the diaphragm muscles. You suffocate.

>>Trump stated tonight that Assad has used Gas a number of times over recent months. That’s something I’m not seeing reported.

Who gave him that "intelligence"? The same community that's been accusing the election of being rigged by Russia? Jarad Kooooshner?

There are tests that can be performed to document whether the Sarin gas involved in Syria has the same chemical signature what ~was in the Libyan arsenal.

They need to be done - and the results disclosed.

This well, uhhh, it's a state secret horse shyte doesn't fly anymore.

“Little things like Russia’s official statements sounding a bit phoned in.”

Their UN “warning” to us was certainly pro forma. Kabuki theater as was Nikki Haley walking out on them. Putin had already been notified so that we wouldn’t be killing his people. Or apparently any Syrians.

The Tomahawks blew up planes and the airbase in general. It was a serious warning to quit the gassing, more than Clinton vs the fabled aspirin factory. And I suspect that it focused some minds in Tehran and Pyongyang. Bathhouse Barry Obama is gone and there’s a new sheriff in charge.

It’s something I was unhappy to see at first. I have warmed up to it, but the next few days may not be as rosy as we want. We’ll have to see what the fall-out is.

I’m willing to wait too. There’s plenty of time to go negative if that turns out to be the right thing to do.

These first few hours are interesting to watch, the reactions here.
