The April 4th, 2017 incident at Khan Sheikhoun has provoked an emotional response around the world after images began to emerge showing civilian adults and children apparently suffering from the effects of chemical weapons. President Donald Trump has stated that the attack has totally changed his views towards the Syrian civil war, and may alter his intended strategy there.
Although Western media immediately accused Bashar al-Assad of participating in a gas attack against his own people, the evidence indicates that the intended target was not immediately in a civilian area and was in fact a location where Syrian White Helmets were on the scene with rebel groups at what observers have claimed was a storage facility for conventional and chemical munitions. Additionally, evidence indicates that rebel groups may have had prior knowledge of the attack and knew that there was a risk of chemical weapons being unleashed. The attack also came in the aftermath of a trip by Senator John McCain to meet with groups known to associate with radical jihadist factions in Syria, at a time when the United States government has been engulfed in a power struggle between different political factions who disagree strongly over what should be appropriate policy in regards to the Syrian civil war.
Evidence which has emerged in the aftermath of the attack at Khan Sheikhoun indicates that not only was the nature of the attack misreported by the media, but that certain individuals on the ground in Syria may have had foreknowledge of the attack up to several days before it happened. On April 3rd, 2017, an anti-Assad journalist tweeted that the next day he would be launching a media campaign to cover airstrikes on the Hama countryside, including the use of chemical weapons.

I saw the picture of people without chemical suits and that made me wonder if it was Sarin at all. Another poster mentioned Chlorine and sure enough, Chlorine from the Saudis has been found at captured ISIS strong points.

If ISIS attacked their own village with chemical weapons in a false flag scenario, the Tomahawk response falls short of what they were hoping for.
The chemical attacks assad launched are in keeping with the cynical mindset of a tyrant, think Stalin or Hitler. What these types do often does not make sense to sensible people and never to ethical people. Being cruel and getting away with it empowers them in the eyes of their supporters and is designed to break the will of the opposition. If no one can help the innocent, despite how brazen the crime is, then why have the will to fight back. Submit. This how you break and defeat an enemy when you're unconstrained by morality.

The risk of that has been minimized, at least. Russian officials have reported that the Trump admin notified them prior to the attack and that no Russian personnel were put at risk.
In the same message, it also said that something along the lines of Russia’s support of Assad isn’t exactly mandatory anymore. The Russians just want a full investigation.
One thing we need to keep in mind in all of this. The media lies. When it’s not lying on purpose, it’s lying because media personnel are just too stupid and incompetent to know when they’re being played for punks.
So, the hyperventilating both before and after is only to be expected but it shouldn’t be assumed that the conclusions that media talking heads jump to have any basis in reality.
If we continue to allow them to jerk our chain, that’s all our own fault.

Everyone’s on edge. Everyone is in question mode but also, many are locked into the old habits of jumping every time the media pulls their chain.
There’s also lots of jumping to conclusions. Missiling an airbase isn’t going for regime change. If that was the aim, then Assad himself would have been targeted in that barrage.
Imo, at least at this time, this was just a warning shot.

The pilots even radioed in to have their orders restated several times because they knew it was a US ship. One of the torpedo boat captains also radioed in and said the ship they were ordered to attack didn't match the profile of the Egyptian ship they were told it was but rather looked like a US ship. None of that mattered.
Like all military organizations, what the people ordered to do the killing or provide "proof" to someone think about a situation and care about has nothing to do with what higher command orders them to do.
The Israelis "know" whatever it takes to further their agenda and it's been that way since day one of the State of Israel. I thought Trump would be just a smart about putting America First, but apparently not.

The last of Syria’s Chemival weapons were supposedly destroyed in 2014. There are pictures showing the last of them leaving by British ships. But officials have always felt Assad was holding some back.
I heard that report. Now the official story is it was helicopters dropping barrels. Just one reason the story stinks. If I was to guess they staged it in the wake of an ordinary bombing run by a Suhkoi.
