Rand Paul says no war with Syria without congressional approval

After seeing the gruesome images of the chemical weapons attack in Syria, President Trump has threatened to take military action. “My attitude toward Syria and Assad has changed very much,” the president said on Wednesday. United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley has also said the U.S. might use force in Syria.

On Thursday, Sen. Rand Paul said any military action taken against Syria by the U.S. would need congressional approval.

Appearing on Fox News Radio’s “Kilmeade and Friends,” Paul said:

The first thing we ought to do is probably obey the Constitution. When Nikki Haley came before my committee and I voted for her, I asked her that question. ‘Will you try to take us to war? Will you advocate for war without constitutional or congressional authority?’ And she said no. So I assumed what she means by this is that, the President, if he decides to do something in Syria, he would come to Congress and ask for a declaration of war.

“Short of Congress voting on it, I’m opposed to illegal and unconstitutional wars,” Paul said.

I’ve been following this all day and I’m becoming convinced this is a false flag to take out Assad for the Saudis to allow the pipeline through. The deep state has been trying to get the pipeline since 1949.

I really do feel Assad & Co. will be departing Syria tonight

Nah, I think he'll survive this.

Regardless, Gaddafi and Hussein didn't flee their respective countries. Gaddafi even said he'd die before leaving Libya at the start of that conflict in 2011, and heck if didn't stick to that.

I hope so also. I still trust Trump. But his patience is driving me insane. With all the crap thrown at him thru the primaries till election. He’s always stood firm and been vindicated. Hope it continues.

I think he knows the pipeline Left has kept this going and he intends to end it. I honestly feel we will be surprised by the coalition to straighten that $hit out tonight comes together.

Remember, this is the first ‘act’ that the globalists don’t control in 30 years. I trust Rex. I trust he has the real data.

Where in the kcuF do we get off intervening in a their Civil War?

Who intervened in ours?

Would we like to be invaded and bombed by another country(Mexico don’t count)?

What happened to non-intervention?

How is this America first?

The rest of the world doesn’t see this is as human rights violations so, why is this our problem?

kcuF the EU

kcuF NATO

This is closer to being their problem than ours and I have heard nothing from those Apeholes....

"..and I’d investigate that rascal McCain first."

IKR! This reeks of a false flag. We're getting too close to unraveling the unmasking scandal, so something to distract us must be ginned up.

The rush has to do with the securing of a port or pipeline route to the Mediterranean and keeping the Ruskies and Syrians out of the way of Saudi plans to ship oil/gas via the pipeline. I could envision Iran making a play for the route, also. Might be another large war among those folks to get that route. Maybe the gas attack is just the first battle.

“Like the Genocide in Sweden?”

That isn’t “genocide”, unless the definition now includes self-inflicted stupidity by a duly-elected government.

This is total BS. This is NOT our fight! We might as well let Clinton call the f-ing shots for now on. I am astounded beyond disbelief. The Constitution and President Washington’s warning of entanglements means nothing to these ass clowns. Obama is now off the hook. President Trump OWNS Syria. This does not come close to being of any benefit to America!

Yeah!

What country have we invaded in the last 50 years and left them better off?

What is our National Interest?

Trump is bound and determined to commit political suicide. First by supporting RyanRinoCare, then declaring war on the Freedom Caucus, now considering war against Russia in Syria.

The Freedom Caucus is the only body keeping Trump from committing political suicide.

Trumps presidency is in free fall right now.

“Two words for you: America First”

And just how the H@LL is this helping us? We are helping ISIS, Saudi Arabia & Turkey. Our enemies.

When I become REALLY, REALLY mad, I cry. I’m crying right now.
