Set your DVR to record TCM's airing of GABRIEL OVER THE WHITE HOUSE tomorrow 6-9 a.m. Thursday morning, depending on where you live.
Walter Houston plays a FDR-style president who disbands Congress, declares martial law, arrests and executes bootleggers with a summary trial, and puts all Americans to work for the State.
An extraordinary leftist fantasy, the film is totalitarian propaganda produced in Hollywood's Golden Age.
Give it a watch. It's also circulating on YouTube for those without TCM (Turner Classic Movies).
Zsa Zsa Zsa Zsa at her height of beatuy.
Prolly too late to set the DVR, but maybe we can catch this one later.
Lessons on how not to run a country!
Amazons in short skirts and high heels. What a Sci-Fi classic!
Everyone should see it at least once. It reminds us, at least, how ancient our fight really is.
That was Walter Huston, wasn’t it?
I remember he did the voice over for a pure commie propaganda film about Russia.
Found it:

Woody Gutherie’s guitar didn’t “kill fascism” until AFTER the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor.
Before that he’d participated with Pete Seeger in a rally opposing the US going to war against Hitler.
Why is it when the Left calls out works as being part of the Red Scare, they never cite Animal Farm and 1984 as a part of that “hysteria”?
They also sidestep the fact that the lefties who were blacklisted really were commies. If there is a "behind the scenes" documentary about a movie from that era, or if a TCM host introduces the movie, they may refer to a writer or director being blacklisted after they were "accused of communist affiliations"; but they always fail to mention that most of these people were enthusiastic card-carrying members. If there is nothing wrong with being a commie, why do they always sweep that under the rug?
If the director had been successfully blacklisted, he wouldn’t have gotten work. People on the productions hired him using a pseudonym so that the Americans boycotting such productions would not know.
