He doesn’t develop this notion systematically but that he names it at all, and so bluntly, is significant. Indeed, the long-term value of this book probably will lie less in Hayes’s survey of “the new Jim Crow” system that Michelle Alexander has described than in his nascent effort to confront and counteract the underlying force of white fear.
Hayes suggests that fear is not just an aspect of white identity; it is the very reason for it — that whiteness in America was constructed and is still maintained, through power structures such as the criminal justice system, to dominate people defined as nonwhite and to control the resulting anxiety about the possibility of rebellion.
OTOH,stats from the FBI show that with murder (just to take one crime as an example) blacks represent a portion of the total way outside their representation in the population.And for that matter they also represent a similarly huge portion as *victims* of murder.

Whites killed 0047 “other” (Asians,perhaps?)

Democrats have always been the power base for race hate doctrines, violence and systematic discrimination. They have just switched the colors around. Any white person who votes for demonrats is insane.
That story is NEVER told.
To the contrary. It is told far too often. Every time the Civil War is brought up, that bit gets mentioned over and over and over again.
What is lost on most people is the fact that the North did not invade the South to free black people. The North invaded the South to prevent the South from having economic independence from the Washington D.C./New York axis of power.

Those who hate America rewrite history to negatively interpret all events. Whites moving out of crime ridden neighborhoods to improve the safety of their families? Must be racism. A large proportion of blacks have criminal records? It cant be that they have committed serious crimes, the facts have to be twisted so that they are victims of white fear. Rather than twist themselves into pretzels trying to explain the obvious, perhaps they should examine why such a high percentage of blacks are criminals and change that.

Your last statement makes no sense to me. Salvation by faith alone does not mean that the Christian is free to do anything he wants. There will always be consequences both here and here-after. Sins are forgiven, but rewards in Heaven are earned.
And in any event, the comment seems irrelevant to the topic under discussion without further explanation. I mean no offense, but I am not following your logic.
Maybe we should have a system of affirmative action for crime. Whites would be permitted to prey on blacks in the same ratio that blacks prey on whites.
Then there’d be some weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Back in the 1820s-1850s there were several riots by free blacks who did NOT want to be sent to Africa.
