You do realize most of the Ryancare bill was voted on in Jan of 2016? There weren’t many changes since then? The Senate passed it, too, in Dec 2015, and was able to do so because it conformed to Reconciliation rules.

Here’s the reality:

Y’all don’t want to legislate. You want to chant slogans.

Period. That’s the situation. You don’t want to do anything other than chant slogans. You know you can’t get what you want. You KNOW this. But you don’t need to get what you want. You can chant slogans even if you get nothing.

“That’s just BS disinformation”

Trump met with the freedom caucus and agreed to include in the bill all their demands.

Then this happened and the freedom caucus went from a yes to a no:

‘And 30-some members of the House made Ryan Speaker? I don’t think so...’

The FC absolutely had the power to stop Ryan when he first ran for Speaker. He said he’d refuse the Speakership unless the FC backed him, and they gave him a super-majority.

Then good riddance. Trump was not elected to champion their agenda nor the agenda of any organization. He was elected to represent those who want the agenda he campaigned on. His jobs and foreign policy.

Represent us.

So why do so many here believe he was for the most conservative solution to Obama Care?

I'm not sure, because Trump is certainly not a conservative. To my mind he's a slightly right-leaning moderate who takes conservative stances on some, but not all, issues. You're not going to get doctrinaire conservatism from this President. On the plus side, there are lots of good things he believes in, and he tends to pursue them vigorously.

The power to stop?

How is that relevant. Where is their power to do something? Where is their power to get something done?

Why would you celebrate the “power to stop” with one breath and then demand the end to the Filibuster rule with the next breath?

How is that governing?

Seeing as how Justin Amash is part of the FC, I can see why Trump has problems with them.

If the FC is not standing in the way, then they can prove it by working right now to get it done, and then getting it done.

Otherwise, I imagine that they are standing in the way.

In other words, Ryan delivered an ultimatum, the Freedom Caucus knew that neither Meadows nor Jordan could win, that the alternative to Ryan was worse and chose to withdraw and fight another day.

Doesn’t sound like they “made” Ryan speaker to me.

In the nominating process we were told that every other candidate but Donald Trump was unacceptable because the most fantastic efforts of connecting the dots contrived some connection by other candidates to Goldman Sachs which disqualified them. When those dots could not be sufficiently connected we were told they were disqualified because they were, "globalists."

Now we are told that the Freedom Caucus is somehow disqualified because of alleged connection to the Koch Brothers.

Now we are told that the Freedom Caucus was bribed to oppose the Ryan Bill.

When will this end? How many conspiracies must we swallow to protect you know who? How many real conservatives must we traduce in order to uphold you know who? How many connections to Goldman Sachs in the cabinet must we swallow in order to protect you know who? How many fanciful inversions of reality must we swallow in order to spare you know who? How many fresh examples of broken promises must we ignore in order to protect you know who? How many times do we have to stand the reality of Rino care on its head in order to protect you know who?

Are you even replying to the right poster?? There was a comment claiming that the 30-member FC could not have prevented Ryan from becoming Speaker. But they absolutely could have, as explained in my prior post.

The rest of what you directed to me was evidently intended for someone else.

Progressive tendancies are rearing their ugly head.

Support the freedom caucus to help keep what little freedom we still have.

The Freedom Caucus responded to Trump that The Swamp Has Now Drained President Trump.

I’ve heard that supposedly Freedom got what they asked for and still voted no.
Then I heard the Parlimentarian was inferring Ryan was full of shit as to how far he could take repealing, then replacing Obamacare.
Then this morning Trump lumps Freedom as being as bad as Democrats.

I think Trump is AFRAID.
I SMELL here that Trump does not want to deal with handling all the voters that could be on freebees getting mad. He is AFRAID to send the culture to the right again requiring people to “Work for what they want, not government gifting”.
In other words, the swamp has in deed at least in part drained Trump IMO as I read this so far.

Based on the most recent Parlimentarian revelations that we can go farther than Ryan said in the bill, does that not crumble the case for Freedom or others to jump on board?
If there is a better bill to be had Freedom did the right thing. If we are supposedly restricted, then Ryan would be correct.

Then there is the third reason, they maybe wanted a part three to vote more Democrats out of office and Freedom is blocking a multi-part strategy to regain a super majority in the Senate.

Anyone know what is going on here? Any mind readers out here?
All I know is I don’t like the feeling of this which at this point is tilting me most toward the Freedom caucus.

The thread you linked to is dated at 10-11-16.

Wow, so they joined with everyone else in bowing before the Speaker since to do otherwise would weaken them.

Yep, they actually have brains.

Thank you for accidentally showing that.

"I still like him. I just think he’s wrong here."

I agree, but maybe for a different reason.

Until patriots get Trump up to speed on the fed’s constitutionally limited powers, regulating, taxing and spending in the name of INTRAstate healthcare not among those powers, Trump is likely going to be continuing the Democratic job of establishing an unconstitutional national healthcare program.

I foresee constitutionally low-information (imo) Trump running the wrong way with the politically correct healthcare “football” that he has intercepted, like wrong-way Riegels did in 1929 Rose Bowl.

Last Saturday Trump encouraged supporters to watch Judge Jeanine whereupon she opened her show by calling for Ryan to step done as Speaker. Either he’s conflicted or is attempting to push both sides of the GOP together.

This am, Ryan said Trump called him and apologized; he thought her show was about something else. So, it sounds like Trump has picked sides for now---Ryan's.

See Post #36. Those seven items are taken directly from Trump's own health care reform plan that he developed in the 2016 campaign. The AHCA didn't address a single one of those, did it?

Item #3 should be a no-brainer. Who in the GOP ever would have objected to including that in the bill?

“Seeing as how Justin Amash is part of the FC”

Exactly. Justin Amash, prominent member of the Freedom Caucus called on Trump to withdraw from the race in October and then refused to vote for him.

They are scum. The people defending them here should point out all the great things they have done.

The FC could have prevented Ryan from becoming Speaker. That is a matter of historical record.

Btw, I went back and read public statements from several members of the FC made publicly prior to Ryan’s original election. They were not dragged kicking and screaming; they were quite enthusiastic.

Keep in mind: the HFC ALL voted for Ryan. Not ONE of them challenged Ryan for the Speakership.

So they got to have their cake and eat it too, being the “purists” while going along with the insiders.

I love Brat and Jordan. I think their positions were correct, but wrong in terms of the reconciliation bill. Moreover, the HFC is only 10% of the entire GOP House membership, and now lost one more member (Poe), and it takes an 80% consensus of the HFC to support or reject a bill. What I’m saying is that they have some clout, but not that much and have to be careful lest they be totally CRUZ-ized.

The best thing HFC could do right now would be to get their “health care” bill out of committee asap. If Ryan’s blocking, go straight to Trump. Believe me, he’ll deal.
