Repeal Obamacare and replace with freedom. Change House and Senate rules to do so if necessary!

Posted on 03/27/2017 12:52:30 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

"Prior to this year, the House voted to repeal Obamacare more than 50 times ---when it was clear that President Obama would veto the bill. The problem we are facing is that some of the people who voted for repeal 50 times will not vote for repeal when it counts, when it is "our moment in time," with Republicans in control of Congress and the presidency." --Rep Dave Brat

"This has been my complaint since before Obamacare became law. Nothing I’ve seen addresses the problem of increased costs of medical care. All these bills just shift the rising costs from the users to the taxpayers. The system can’t work if healthcare costs continue to rise at a rate that’s faster than household income." --mbynack

Costs go through the roof when the government unconstitutionally mandates that everyone MUST be covered and must be covered for all kinds of crap they don’t need or want and regardless of preexisting conditions or whether they can pay for it or even if they are not citizens. Tyranny is expensive.

To our Republican Representatives:

Repeal 100% of Obamacare and replace with free enterprise/free market solutions per the U.S. Constitution!

Nothing else is acceptable or workable. Socialism, communism, fascism, central planning, etc, is totalitarianism and never works!! Our federal government and our constitutional republic was not designed to be and was never intended to be a welfare state! Our Constitution was designed to prevent all this TYRANNICAL crap!

We rebelled against a tyrannical king for a lot less than this!

No excuses. If the house or senate rules are obstacles to repeal with a simple majority vote or within reconciliation rules (or whatever), then change the damned rules already so you can repeal this unconstitutional piece of socialist crap with the simple majorities you hold in both chambers! The constitution gives YOU the majority, the power to do that.

The congress and the chief executive have just as much power, authority and responsibility as the SCOTUS (and perhaps even more so) to ensure that the Constitution is upheld! Do whatever it takes to fulfill your constitutional DUTY!

We voted in Republican majorities and a Republican president specifically so you can do this REPEAL deal, ON DAY ONE!

Just shut up the ridiculous whining, hand wringing and squabbling and quit trying to pass additional or watered down but still tyrannical unconstitutional bills and just get the clean repeal DONE as you PLEDGED to your constituents and is your sworn constitutional DUTY!!

For crying out loud are you the elected representatives of the free citizens of a free market constitutional republic or are WE the captive subjects of a tyrannical USSR style communist government with a centrally planned economy?

To all:

Does the constitution even matter to you people anymore?

Does the Republic matter?

Does Liberty matter?

Does a free market economy matter?

Our constitutionally limited government was not intended to take care of us from cradle to grave.

It’s NOT their job!!

Conservatives and the Freedom Caucus are not our enemies. The big government globalist establishment is!

And if we go along with it trying for a free lunch, we are. The government does not owe us health care or health care insurance. It’s NOT a God-given right! Nor is it a constitutional power for the federal government. It's reserved to the states and the people!

Wake the hell up, people, it’s a lot later than you think.

We need to keep pounding that drum. We are relatively small in number, but far from impotent.

“It does not take a majority to prevail; but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men. ” – Samuel Adams

he has no idea what it is like to live in a free country because he is too young to have ever lived in one

See if he has any desire to live for awhile in another country, especially a more hard-core socialist country. Encourage him to go there for awhile and help him financially to do so if you can.

I believe he'll leave as a confused boy and come back as a straightened-out man who would much more appreciate the freedoms we still enjoy in America.

Trump ran on “repeal and replace” not just “repeal”. Tens of millions lost their insurance through work, and now have Obamacare. Many are older, with preexisting conditions, and they helped elect Trump. Just repealing it leaves them with nothing, something Trump promised he wouldn’t do. Unfortunately the Republicans have to clean up the mess left behind by Obamacare or they and especially Trump will get the blame. Just repealing isn’t enough.

Too bad. It’s none of his business (constitutionally) and he needs to get over it and go to full repeal before it destroys the rest of his agenda.

By the way, I meant too bad for Trump not too bad the elderly people and others you referred to in your post.

Trump the president is a different entity from Trump the candidate. The president is required to faithfully execute the office of the president to the best of his ability and to preserve, protect and defend the constitution.

I just saw a poll that only 7% of Americans think repealing Obamacare is the top issue (5th place). The top concerns are jobs and tax reform. Trump is right to leave it for now and concentrate on the rest of his agenda. IMHO getting stuck on healthcare will sink the rest of his agenda, and make him a one termer. Time to move on and come back to it later.

I hear what you are saying, but you have to consider politics too. You can’t change anything if you lose elections.

He won the election already. Now his duty is to uphold the constitution and MAGA. And I guarantee you that if he repeals Obamacare, builds the wall, enforces the law, deports them all, ends sanctuary cities, slaps a moratorium on Muslim immigration, dumps the Iran nuke deal, makes better trade deals, brings back manufacturing and jobs, ends the war on coal, gas & oil, gets domestic oil flowing, dumps the EPA, cuts taxes, cuts spending, cuts debt, cuts regulations, cuts government, restores the constitution and liberty, returns education to the states, and secures the borders, secures the nation and rebuilds our military he will go down in history as the greatest president ever.

Screwing us over with Obamacare or GOP-Obamacare-lite will seriously degrade his chances of accomplishing much of anything. In fact, he will be the Establishment’s bitch from that day forward.

The most important thing he ran on and what even got him out of the starting gate is that he was the ANTI-Establishment candidate who was going to drain the swamp and make America great again!

Ryan is a swamp dwelling establishment snake. Ryancare is a piece of unconstitutional, unwanted, unsustainable, big government socialist, anti-freedom, anti-American, establishment swamp snake feces! Flush him and it!
