On November 6, 2010, I published an article predicting the Republican Partys predictable capitulation to ObamaCare.
It happened this week. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan oversaw the burial of House Republicans opposition. His toothless and feckless compromise bill ObamaCare Lite was DOA.
Good riddance.
Ryan used to parade his fondness for the economics of Ayn Rand, but when push came to shove, he made a Greenspan career move another official Ayn Rand fan before he got into power. Ryan wimped out. He played ball in a rigged game. He went with the flow . . . over the falls.
For over six years, the Republicans submitted dozens of doomed bills to repeal ObamaCare. Citing Macbeth, it was all sound and fury, signifying nothing . . . nothing but the same old surrender to the Democrats welfare state. They never repeal anything that the Democrats ram down their throats. Once there is a new voting bloc getting fat on Uncle Sugar, the Republicans refuse to repeal the boondoggle.
I know there are true believers out there who assure us: This time it will be different. This time if we elect a true Republican, he will roll back the welfare state.
Nope. Sorry. Nothing will change. Its always this: Replace. Dont repeal.
I say: Repeal. If something is morally evil and the welfare state is evil repeal it.

THAT'S why it failed.
The Ruling Oligarchy (the Establishment) think they're very clever, but we're not done with them.
So they will replace him with...Boehner the Third?
Probably.
Despite Trump’s win, I have a sinking feeling that our own party will sell us down the road.
Should that happen, we have only one choice, and it is not a pleasant one.
Before opening the ammo box we should try a convention of the states. However I will agree we are running out of options.
They will sell us down the road. We have a two party system in this country: The Demopublican party and Trump and I can imagine it’s been hell for Trump dealing with these enemies of the people. Don’t forget: They did absolutely NOTHING for 8 years while Obama committed one blatant act of treason after another after another after another. There is no Republican party anymore, there is only the Demopublican party.
Freedom Caucus kept Pres Trump from saving/mending ORyanCare.
Ryan Must Go.
POTUS needs to stop sending mixed message of watch Judge Jeanine (eviscerate Lyin Ryan) and I blame Freedom Caucus and support Lyin Ryan.
Freedom Caucus base supported Trump, while Lyin Ryan was an original NeverTrumper.
Don’t trust Ryan, Mr President.
Paul Ryan, SOB (Son of Boehner)
Just another back stabbing snake spawned by the GOPe. Nothing he or the GOPe will do anything for the American people but everything their donors tell them to do.
GOP has forsaken the American people and installed themselves as the House of Lords. Not much difference between the GOP and the DRATS.
Sad but true.
The GOPe is dedicated to 3 things: 1) Off load corporate health care costs on to the U.S. government thus the U.S. taxpayer,2) Comprehensive immigration reform also known as amnesty, and 3) Reduction of multinational corporate tax rates and tariffs shifting the tax burden on to small business and the shrinking middle class to fund an ever expanding government while maintaining the pretense of being the small government party.
According to Rep. Louis from Texas, when the bill was drafted,he didn’t ask anyone giving the input for the bill. I guess he want to run it through like Pelosi.
What a REVOLTing situation.
Paul Ryan SOB (Spawn of Boehner)
And now we want Trey Gowdy to step in and rescue us as Speaker? The same Trey Gowdy who we counted on to get to the bottom of the Benghazi crimes? That worked out real well.
Congress failed after each of its last several electoral win and seems to be doing so again. Paul Ryan AND his deputies must go. No exceptions. The house needs new leadership. McConnell needs to know the same fate awaits him if he doesn’t support President Trump.
POTUS needs to stop sending mixed message
***************
This is beginning to hurt him. As a businessman, he had more latitude to say whatever he wanted but, as president, its very important for him to be clear, consistent and accurate in his messages in order to maintain confidence and credibility. I would like to see him tighten up his messaging a bit, and probably so would his staff.
Can you point to any factual information that the Freedom Caucus stopped this bill? The last I heard, rinos were running from it as fast as conservatives. Since there was no vote, it makes it easy to blame conservatives.
Only one thing would have been worse for Trump than supporting Ryancare, and that would have been if it had passed, and become law.
Groups, like the Freedom Caucus, et al, have saved him from that cataclysmic outcome. I would have cost him the election in 2020.
What’s puzzling is, why Trump continues to prop up Ryan after this debacle. Maybe it’s one of his secret 3D chess plays, but I can’t make the connection.
The left is gloTing, and going forward Trump’s agenda has be compromised.
I still support him, but I’m plenty worried.
