Undocumented mother of 12 aided by Mexican government to fight deportation

EDINBURG, TX - An undocumented mother of 12 is fighting deportation and she’s getting help from the Mexican Consulate in McAllen, Texas.

She’s one of hundreds across the country targeted in renewed federal efforts to crack down on criminal aliens.

Norma Roman tries to keep herself and her children busy. The mother, whose kids were all born in the U.S., helps her kids with their homework to take their minds off a grim reality: the possible separation from their mother. She says she’s placing her faith in god and in her attorney. She currently has an "order of removal" by Immigration and Customs Enforcement after multiple run-ins with the law.

In 2011, Norma overstayed her visa and left the country only to be smuggled back days later.

In September, Norma was arrested for taking an extra $5,000 in food stamps, aid Norma claims she didn’t know she wasn’t supposed to receive.

She says that she spent 36 days in jail and paid the money back.

But with limited resources to fight deportation, the 39-year-old turned to the Mexican Consulate for help.

Consul Guillermo Ordorica says that all 50 Mexican Consulates in the U.S. were instructed by the Mexican government to provide legal aid and create what are known as "centers for defense."

It’s all in response to the increasing number of immigration raids by the Trump administration.

If you saw the video at the link, you’ll see the reporter was cheerleading for her. He asked the kids, “You guys don’t want her to leave, do you?”

She doesn’t have to be drawing SSI. Since those kids were all born here they’re all eligible for welfare cash assistance and Medicaid. With 12 kids and a low income you can pull in a boatload of money and then have every dime of their medical paid for. Then add in the food stamps. Yeehaw!!!!

Same here. Nothing but blacks and Mexicans from other neighborhoods. Our street would be lined with cars where they had bussed them in. I turned all my lights off and that was that.

But SSI is the EXTRA income because you don’t have to qualify directly for SSA or have worked enough quarters, neither does you parents (daddy) if you happen to know who they are. With that many kids, she and the leech she was married to were just operating a leeching breeder business. I’d bet they spend the bulk of the money on drugs based on the hovel they live it. (But that might have just been for show and they have a real house, etc.). Effing leeches.

If you sign up for one entitlement, it’s like a blanket ticket to all the others. All it takes is the time and patience to apply for it all. It’s a great living if you don’t want to pull your share.

SSI is called supplemental security income. It is primarily for those whose guardians or they don’t qualify for Social Security because they don’t work. It is funded directly out of the general fund but administered by SSA. Together, SSDI and SSI amount to at least 1/4 of the overall expenditures when I read about it years ago before Obama. It is disgusting.

I was an eligibility worker for the welfare department. I know exactly what SSI is.

That is what a consulate is for - to help the country’s citizens.

That said, the proper solution is not to deport her to Mexico.
The proper solution is deport her to Libya or Somalia. No land route back to the US. Problem solved.

the person who sign off on the $5000 food stamp should also be held responsible. unless of course they used false documents. (we need better documents)

“I’m sure the spawn are dual citizenship.”

Correct-a-mundo. And it’s why there’s no problem deporting them along with dear old mother.

So then tell me they cannot get SSI as a minor citizen with no SS record.

—I wonder how much this illegal breeder costs the taxpayers.—

Under 18 each anchor is good for about $800 a month in SSI, plus food stamps, ebt etc etc. Of course this ‘mother’ is fighting if she’s clearing over $100k annual tax free.

I wasn’t arguing with you. I was just telling you I probably know more than most about SSI. SSI is nothing but a federal welfare program.

Yes, a directly funded credit card right out of the general fund that both illegals and legal immigrants and layabouts abuse and misuse daily. SSDI and SSI are a HUGE drain on the SS system and are primarily responsible for its insolvency. There are needs for both, but for citizens truly in need and not those gaming the system.

They have 12 kids - 2 with learning disabilities.

Only two? Usually they try to get all the kids classified as learning disabled. More $$$.

Somebody dropped the ball.

Amazing. And there are probably hundreds of thousands of US Citizen breeders just like her.
