EDINBURG, TX - An undocumented mother of 12 is fighting deportation and shes getting help from the Mexican Consulate in McAllen, Texas.
Shes one of hundreds across the country targeted in renewed federal efforts to crack down on criminal aliens.
Norma Roman tries to keep herself and her children busy. The mother, whose kids were all born in the U.S., helps her kids with their homework to take their minds off a grim reality: the possible separation from their mother. She says shes placing her faith in god and in her attorney. She currently has an "order of removal" by Immigration and Customs Enforcement after multiple run-ins with the law.
In 2011, Norma overstayed her visa and left the country only to be smuggled back days later.
In September, Norma was arrested for taking an extra $5,000 in food stamps, aid Norma claims she didnt know she wasnt supposed to receive.
She says that she spent 36 days in jail and paid the money back.
But with limited resources to fight deportation, the 39-year-old turned to the Mexican Consulate for help.
Consul Guillermo Ordorica says that all 50 Mexican Consulates in the U.S. were instructed by the Mexican government to provide legal aid and create what are known as "centers for defense."
Its all in response to the increasing number of immigration raids by the Trump administration.

It’s a bizarre assumption that every parent who is deported will leave their kids behind, so therefore we just can’t deport them. Unless I were headed to North Korea my family would stay together.
How about, if someone has a child and needs help, we help out because we are a charitable people. If you have another that you can’t afford to take care of, you are on your own. If the father doesnt want to take care of the child, he should be forcibly put to work or go to prison and have it worked out of him.
You can bet that if a U.S. consulate somewhere in Mexico was helping some American evade the law in Mexico, Mexico would demand the consulate be closed on the basis of conduct incompatible with our consular agreements; which is exactly what the U.S. should do with Mexico in the these cases.
I could go with that as long as the kid is provided for but there is no government incentive for the woman to get pregnant again. We need to quit paying women to have babies.
Will the USA survive the weaponized vagina?
Wrt number 6...
Bad idea to keep her for same reason you don’t pay ransom money to a kidnapper...you want to remove the incentive.
IOW - we don’t want her and her kids, we can’t afford them.
My thoughts for welfare reform match yours. We will provide assistance for one child. After that, the parents have to provide for any additional children.
Mexico won’t give the 12 children visas or what? This family need not be broken up. The children should be allowed to emigrate to Mexico legally.
No matter what happens, the undocumented mother says she will return
to the U.S. any way possible.
UPDATE:
Norma Roman says that her petition to stay has been denied and is waiting to find
out when exactly shes required to turn herself in to be deported. When asked if
Norma falls under Trumps priorities for removal, ICE replied saying that they are
looking into the case and may respond with another statement on a later date.
Don’t forget WIC, Section 8, TANF, HEAP ( Heating and Cooling assistance), Red Cross food baskets, local charities to provide Christmas gifts, Thanksgiving baskets etc.
What a country!
Oh yes. You’re right. She’s a regular little money breeder is what she is. Neither of them really work I bet.
I quit doing trick or treat because it got to where all I got was a bunch of Mexicans with pillow cases and WalMart bags holding them out for candy. No costumes, no thank-yous no nothings - just gibsmedats. They came from miles around to hit my subdivision.
The average middle-class Caucasian Western male is up against the “family” court system and the government. Should the above-mentioned creature get divorced, he will soon discover he has no rights or power over his own children. He will have to shell out at least a good 10 grand to establish his basic rights as a father. Getting custody will cost you another 7 to 10 grand on top of that.
Meanwhile, the mother would automatically get custody and withhold visitation while being winked at by the “family” court. The government will further enrich Itself by collecting admin fees on any child support that dad pays. Nobody could have designed a better system to keep the average middle-class white Western Caucasian male from reproducing.
Ship ‘em all back! If they can’t bear to be separated, then it only stands to reason that they remain with their mama......and why is the government paying them benefits?
“The mother, whose kids were all born in the U.S.”
OK, is that the truth? Were each of the 12 born in hospitals in the US? Or was this lady playing the system.
The abuse of our “earned income tax credit” subsidies by Mexican citizens is a documented fact. It was long ago shown that some claimed children (who lived in Mexico) that were not their’s to get the advantage.
Lies are accepted as a way of life in much of Mexico. Many there don’t see any issue with that.
I’m not saying that what is stated in the article is incorrect. I’m saying that it is likely that the people who wrote the article probably “left out some details that don’t support their agenda”.
Arrest this illegal alien scum. Seize her assets and deport her. She can take her US tax-payer supported spawn with her. She is the ultimate illegal alien invader parasite.
Don’t worry about the kids going back to Mexico. They’re Mexican citizens with the right to vote and own land in Mexico. Those rights don’t apply to U.S. citizens. Good thing mother never learned English, so kids can easily adapt to Mexico.
So take current amount of tax money spent on her, multiply by 12, then expect us to pay that amount in the future.
Good thing this is only an isolated incident. /s
Fine, the Mexican Consulate can provide all the aid they wish but this is America and American laws. The law says she’s illegal, so deport her already. Send her anchor babies with her.
I’m against the anchor baby law too. There is birth tourism from countries like China where people come here to take advantage of the law. It needs to be changed. As of right now, though, we have the law, so the 12 kids are citizens.
