Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been targeting so-called "sanctuary cities" with increased enforcement operations in an effort to pressure those jurisdictions to cooperate with federal immigration agents, a senior US immigration official with direct knowledge of ongoing ICE actions told CNN.

It’s my natural instinct (is that redundant?) to not trust anything that CNN puts out. Especially if it’s from an anonymous source.
That sounds to me as though they are doing exactly what the ought to be doing.
Are sanctuary cities going to be defunded? I remember that was threatened for a while, Whatever happened with that?
Guess Reno has lucked out since the city council has decided(6-0?!) that we are a ‘Welcoming City’. Which isn’t the same thing. Why? Different spelling for the same meaning I guess.
It’s called shooting fish in a barrel.
California State Senate Leader: Half My Family Here Illegally
5 Feb 2017
California State Senate President Pro Tem Kevin De Léon (D-Los Angeles) said last Tuesday that half his family was in the country illegally, using false documents, and eligible for deportation under President Trumps new executive order against sanctuary jurisdictions.
De Léon, who introduced the bill, made his remarks at a hearing in Sacramento on SB54, the bill to make California a Sanctuary State.
He said (at 1:27:34 in the video that follows):
I can tell you half of my family would be eligible for deportation under [President Donald Trumps] executive order, because if they got a false Social Security card, if they got a false identification, if they got a false drivers license prior to us passing AB60, if they got a false green card, and anyone who has family members, you know, who are undocumented knows that almost entirely everybody has secured some sort of false identification. Thats what you need to survive, to work. They are eligible for massive deportation.
Testifying before the Senate Public Safety Committee, De Léon defended the widespread practice by illegal aliens of using fraudulent documents to work and obtain taxpayer-paid benefits, dismissing any concerns California citizens may have about being the target of identity theft. "width=500">
Fifty one arrests in Travis county seems like a mere drop in the bucket.
How about a thousand?
Why not? That would be where the highest concentration of illegals would be.
Well, if you are after illegal aliens, naturally you go where the illegal aliens are.
‘Sanctuary’ cities are a good place to start.
Good...but Ryan is giving them Healthcare..so as long as they get benefits they will keep coming
Good management at ICE.
Use the budget wisely.
Imagine that, law enforcement going where the crimes are.
I’m torn on this one.
If local law enforcement isn’t going to notify ICE when they catch a criminal, that means ICE needs more agents in those cities (if they want to clean up those cities). Cities that have law enforcement help ICE don’t need as many agents there to enforce federal laws.
But, with limited resources, it may be good to help cities that want help and tell any dirtbag illegals to go hang out in a sanctuary city. Protect the 14yo girls in cities where mayors won’t sacrifice 14yo girls to protect illegals if we can’t protect them all.
That sounds like being smart. That sounds like not being the STUPID GOVERNMENT anymore. That sounds like #WINNING
Heck, you cast your line where the fish are ...
Ah know, need ta put some one way turnstiles in that wall o’ Trump’s so they can pass south but not norte.
