Supreme Court: After Judge Neil Gorsuch spent 20 hours demonstrating that he is abundantly qualified to be a Supreme Court Justice, Democrats announced plans to filibuster his nomination. Good luck with that.
By all accounts, Gorsuch put in a stellar performance in his confirmation hearing. Even the New York Times conceded that "if Democrats harbored any hope of raising doubts about Judge Gorsuch among Republicans, they came nowhere close."
But as soon as the hearing ended, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced that he was going to filibuster the nomination anyway.
Gorsuch, Schumer said, "was groomed by the Federalist Society and has shown not one inch of difference between his views and theirs."
We understand that Schumer is just trying to appease his party's far-left, Trump-loathing base. But think about this strategy for a minute.

Nuke them.
Schmuck Schumer is such a slimy scumball. He is an absolute disgrace to America!! Disgusting big city creep. Everything a public servant should not be. PUTZ!!
I’m OK with a real filibuster. It is the phony filibusters of recent years that have stalled the Senate. IMO, the phony filibuster is a very visible demonstration of the Senators priorities. They would much rather be having cocktails and being entertained by $1,000 hookers paid for by their handlers than actually stand on the floor and fight for a principle.
I don’t have a great feeling about Gorsuch. He sounds like a Democrat when it comes to illegal aliens, and if the court swings that way, the country could be in real trouble.
If James Madison, who wrote large parts of the Constitution, were to be alive today and nominated for a seat on the Supreme Court, these same people who be saying the same things about him.
Make them physically filibuster for about a week and then nuke them.
Give the stupid party time to find their spine and just repeal O-care. I don’t want it replaced. I want .gov out of my life and out of my medical care.
That's an assumption the writer is making that Trump will follow some unwritten law that says you have to give and take appointing justices. BS I say. Trump never gives in .....he fights to win....always
“Nuke them.”
Agree; Cornyn and Cruz will have to hold McConnell up and move his lips for him though as he will go plumb wobbly at the thought. Actually, I hope the Dems do filibuster and thereby force Republicans to go Nuke. It will make it much easier to nominate Supremes from here in out.
Democrats are not equipped to actually filibuster. They are only prone to threaten a filibuster, depending on RINOs getting scared and backing out at the threat.
Make them really do. 24/7 for as long as it takes. Democrats are only equipped for whining, not doing real, constructive work.
Go for it Chuckels, burnup what little credibility you have left you putz.
Sans a catheter, Bernie would be good for about 15 minutes before he had to pee...
I agree. Make them do a real filibuster. Don’t use the nuclear option. That will just allow the dems to use it against them in the future. The GOP needs to learn to play yard all.
I don’t recall the Republicans objecting on ideological basis to some truly radical SC appointees, such as Sotomayor, Kagan and Ruth Buzzi. They always wanted to seem “gracious” and “bipartisan”.
Must look into weiner and his lap top escapades, slime bucket schumer is in there somewhere. This will shut him up!
They don’t want a candidate from the republican side, period.
They are scum in my book. The worst thing that was ever done in my opinion was go to popular elections for US Senators.
Filibuster? Have at it, the old fashioned way.
I’m starting construction on a new room just to hold the popcorn I’m going to need for the circus that starts after Ginsberg nods off for the final time.
Well, that describes Neil Gorsuch. If he thinks that he can usurp the word of God, do you really think he can be trusted to uphold the Constitution? John Roberts II.
Senator KKK Robt. Byrd is dead ,,, who will now read poetry on the chamber floor during the filibuster ?
