Scarborough Suggests White House Used Intel Chair to Change Headlines, ‘Blow up’ House Investigation
Legal Insurrection ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Joe Scarborough has suggested that—in order to change the headlines and “blow up” the House investigation into ties between the Trump campaign and Russians—the White House “shoved” House intel committee chairman Devin Nunes in front of the cameras to reveal that communications of President Trump and associates may have been intercepted after the election by intelligence agencies conducting surveillance of foreign targets.

Said Scarborough on today’s Morning Joe: “it just looked like, and sounded like from some reporting I did yesterday, that you had the White House desperate to do anything to change headlines this morning, because, again, from the reporting I did yesterday, talking to people in the White House, they were so desperate to change the narrative that it looks like they shoved him out with this information—just any information, anything—to change the headlines. And to blow up the investigation in the House. And it looks like that’s exactly what they did.”

“This morning, McCain and other maniacs were saying that letting the Pres know was disloyal to the committee. Based on statements like that, one can conclude that the hearings are an excuse to not tell the president about it!”

I believe that this is what the outrage from some of the other House Committee members (and others) has been about.

It’s telling that they are more unhappy with Nunes supposedly going behind their back by presenting President Trump with the information than they are about the fact that the previous administration seems to have been surveilling President Trump and his transition team and spreading the intelligence throughout the government agencies.

If the Committee is the sole arbiter of what information becomes public knowledge, they can continue to protect the ‘system’ and continue their uninterrupted attacks on President Trump.

What BS. It was the Soros-suppored Obama-Hillary admin who were the ones aligned with KGB Putin, having helped him out in so many critical ways. From nukes and missile defense to the Clinton-Podesta Uranium One deal, where the Russians ended up with 20% of our uranium production. Plus the O admin practically crippled OUR military with its sharp cuts in defense spending and cancelelations or steep reductions of various programs. All this while the Russians are making major expansionist moves in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Trump threw a wrench into that and started a ping pong match. Here is how I recap the match at this point:

Shot 1: The Russians rigged our elections. We are just saying that you must acknowledge their influence. And now that you have, according to leaked “wiretaps” the Trump campaign coordinate with Russia to fix the election. Flynn talked to the Russians (after the election) to offer quid pro quo for fixing the elections.

Shot 2: Why was a U.S. citizen wiretapped?

Shot 3: Oh, it was “incidental.” It was the Russian ambassador who was tapped.

Shot 4: Ok, then why would you unmask a U.S. citizen not subject to the investigation?

Shot 5: No, that isn’t the story!!! It is Trump and the Russians!! Much more serious than unmasking a private U.S. citizen. This is the end of his presidency.

Shot 6: Where is the evidence?

Shot 7: Well there isn’t any which is why we need a special prosecutor.

Shot 8: Tweet: Obama wiretapped the Trump campaign, disgraceful.

Shot 9: Where is the absolute, 100%, without a doubt, proof that Obama wiretapped Trump. Where is the proof that Obama himself snuck into Trump Tower and directly tapped Trump’s phone.

Shot 10: You know Trump meant surveillance in the broader sense of the word. Anyway, why is Trump required to provide 100% proof of tapping, which he says he will provide, when 0% proof is required on the Russian story.

Shot 11: Exactly, the Russian story is the story!!

Shot 12: Really, the story with no evidence? We know, however, that U.S. citizens have been wiretapped in the past. Your own stories in your own newspapers started this entire thing off by saying wiretaps supported collusion with Russia.

Shot 13: Yes, but we meant wiretaps not wiretap wiretaps. Russia and Trump is the story.

Shot 14: Evidence?!?!

Shot 15: Very serious charge. Anyway, Adam Shiff says so. Oh and here is James Comey to announce that ties between the Trump campaign and Russia have been ongoing for 8 months. That must mean there is sumpin there. Impeachment coming. Also, Trump lied about the wiretaps. Comey is unaware of any.

Shot 16: Wait, so Comey has admitted that a sitting President’s administration was investigating a candidate from the opposition party during an election? Also, in the 8 months that this investigation was going on it is Comey’s assertion that surveillance techniques were never used? You know, the stuff used in just about every investigation. Why didn’t he notify anyone? Why would he not investigate the unmasking of U.S. citizens?

Shot 17: The real story is Russia and its links to the Trump campaign. But yes, we are annoyed that Comey didn’t disclose this investigation during the election. Still, Trump should not have any more nominees considered until such time as this cloud is lifted.

Shot 18: What cloud, there is no evidence. It should concern every American that the Obama administration had been screwing with the rules to allow unmasking of U.S. citizens.

Shot 19: Russia, Story, Period. Oh, and Trump’s wiretapping claims have been 100% debunked. This man is hurting the credibility of the nation by lying like this. Just read Susan Rice’s editorial on this in the WaPo for a great summation as to why.

Shot 20: Umm, the head of the House Intel Committee just said there is evidence. There is a whistle blower. Looks like Comey may have lied. Looks like, at the very least, saying Trump is 100% wrong is what is 100% wrong. Why are U.S. citizens being tapped and or unmasked if incidentally tapped? This is a big scandal.

Shot 21: THE STORY IS RUSSIA!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU IDIOTS. WE TELL YOU WHAT TO THINK. GET THE MESSAGE. MIKA TELLS YOU AND WE ALL TELL YOU!!!

Shot 22: There is more coming out on this.

Shot 23: CNN sayeth that according to “unnamed government sources” their “may be” a link with Trump campaign “associates.” You know, just like the same story that the NYT published a couple of months back. Oh, and this investigation has not used any “wiretapping.” The investigation has been based on phone records, eye witnesses and other stuff.

Shot 24: You mean stuff that doesn’t usually support other investigations. This is just the same damn story recycled to scrub away the mistake you previously made by admitting that there was wiretapping.

Shot 25: That’s it, we need to investigate Nunnes and anyone, for that matter, who is ruining our Trump Russia meme. THAT IS THE STORY.

It would appear that Nunes is not part of the corrupt political establishment in Washington. However McCain and others are up to their eyeballs in it. Maybe McCain is afraid of what may be coming out.

Committees are where corruption is whitewashed and swept under the rug. Trump has upset the Old Fart’s club.

Why in hell would an increasingly aggressive, expansionist Russia NOT want Hillary to have won, given how the leftist dems don't care one wit about the military and made such steep reductions in spending and readiness.

Maybe there is evidence that shows obama abused the surveillance state to get information on people he intended to blackmail. I wouldn't expect a fake news hack like Joe the blowhard to report the truth. He couldn't find Mika’s titts with both hands.

Joe is no doubt dumbstruck as this is the first time ever in the history of US politics something like this has happened.

I guess it would be OK if Trump bombed some random Middle Eastern country in the middle of the night and killed a janitor.

I watched MJ pretty faithfully when they were all but supporting Trump, outright.

The table was full of smart political hands, who were fair to Trump and their heady conversation easily left the giddy dull F&F gang of inexperienced talking heads on the curb in a good of dust.

I still can’t watch F&F, but wait for Varney.

MJ got hammered for their fairness to Trump. Comcast had to have threatened to fire them. Too much of a departure from sanity proves it. Try are saying, today, nothing of what they believe and have become unwatchable, performing in the vein of
Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters.

They totally lost their chance to stand out, on MSNBC, as attracting Republican news junkies. Mika and Joe have opted for space cadet unforms and tin foil hats.
