Defense Secretary Gen. James Mattis wants to nominate a senior fellow at a Soros-funded think tank as undersecretary at the Pentagon, as the embattled Cabinet official continues to clash with the White House over prospective nominees.
Politico reports that Mattis wants Rudy deLeon a senior fellow at the far-left Center for American Progress (CAP) to come on board as undersecretary for personnel and readiness.
DeLeon previously served in the Clinton administration as deputy secretary of defense. During that time, Gen. Mattis served as his senior military assistant.
DeLeon worked for Boeing as senior vice president from 2001 to 2006 and currently serves on the board of major defense company General Dynamics.
This appears to be a peculiar choice for an undersecretary, given that deLeon recently endorsed a letter opposing the presidents immigration moratorium from six terror-linked countries. The letter calls Trumps national security order beneath the dignity of our great nation and advised government workers to apply discretion, in an attempt to essentially undermine the presidents initiative.
As a CAP official, he has engaged in campaigns to advance progressive values. deLeon advocates for government to take steps that will be a lasting legacy to the progressive societies for decades to come. He is also a proponent of President Obamas Iran nuclear deal with the terror state in Tehran.

So how’s the water level in the swamp these days? Seems like it’s getting deeper to me...
Like this one with Hillary in it?
agreed
Mattis hiring commieprog aholes is not out of the art of war. It’s crap.
How is this a hit piece? If it is factual, it is not a hit piece.
Thanks, that’s what I figured.
Just needs a giant with lost souls pouring into its maw in its belly, and more fire.
Maybe neither Ivanka nor Pres. Trump know about Gorelick’s past.
Where is the journalist integrity when one site is merely siting another site and interpreting what the original site wrote, especially with no sources to be quoted.........
It just might be factual but at this juncture, I'm considering it heresay..........
We can't tell what is going on from out here in the boonies.
Mattis is a skilled warrior. He knows there is also a war going on in DC.
When you're draining the swamp, you don't tell the alligators what you are going to do or where you are going to be.
I could be wrong, of course, but having watched Trump for a very long time, I trust him to make the right decisions.
Trump understands full-well how to confound the enemy...so does Mattis.
"I come in peace, I didn't bring artillery.
But I am pleading with you with tears in my eyes:If you - - with me, I'll kill you all."
Marine General James Mattis, to Iraqi tribal leaders
Trump didn't make a mistake with Mattis.
We just need to take a good, long look at the incredible team Trump has selected and have faith that they are going to pull this wonderful country back from the brink.
We also have a job...to spread confidence that we are going to win.
Let's all pull together and support one another. Have faith.
I’m beginning to feel like an Atlanta Falcons fan halfway through the third quarter. I’m watching it but still can’t believe it.
The only hesitancy I had about voting for The Donald was the fact that for all his rhetoric during the campaign, he has never in his life had to face organized opposition to his every move compounded by dubious loyalty from those he thought would have his back. Where is Bannon while all of this is going on? And Jamie Gorelick in the White House?!? And why didn’t he educate the federal judge who issued the injunction against his immigration ban by explaining the judiciary has no say in the matter? I know it’s early in the game but the signs of a major let-down are appearing more and more frequently. Hope I’m wrong...
The rumor was he was a Democrat, but he is picking boll weevils, didn’t Trump do his own vetting? Did Bannion look at his former colleagues and see what kind of group hot tub he frequented?
If what you say is factual, then why did he want to hire Patterson, a Muslim Brotherhood supporter who supported the overthrow of Morsi? And unless the article is entirely false, why does he want to hire a progressive who helped put together the Iran deal? It makes absolutely no sense at all.
I just did a quick search and here are two other articles saying the same thing.
Mattis Naming Obama Veterans To Key Defense Positions Is Making Republicans Furious
Mattis has so far attempted to smuggle various progressives into the administration, whom he worked with in the past. He initially wanted Michele Flournoy as his deputy, a spot now-temporarily filled by Obama administration holdover Robert Work. Flournoy was deemed Hillary Clintons likely defense secretary and also served as the undersecretary of defense for policy during the Obama administration.
Mattis has also pushed the White House to nominate Rudy DeLeon, who served during the Clinton administration, to the position of undersecretary for personnel and readiness. He suggested Richard V. Spencer for undersecretary of the Navy, even though Spencer is affiliated with the Center for a New American Security, a left-leaning think tank.
Here’s another:

Hill Republicans say they’re growing frustrated with Mattis
He has more recently proposed to the White House nominating Clinton administration veteran Rudy DeLeon as undersecretary for personnel and readiness and Richard V. Spencer, a former Marine and investment banker now affiliated with the bipartisan Center for a New American Security, as secretary of the Navy.
The irony of “Petreaus all over” is that Mattis helped Petreaus write the COIN strategy and rules of engagement. I had gut reservations about him, but these choices of his literally make me sick.
I think mad dog is truly mad!

It makes total sense if the good general is covering all his bases with an eye to his post DoD career.
Makes me uneasy being that I vote pro-life and we know his kids are democrats.
