A Jewish man in Upstate NY was jailed on Monday for falsely reporting racist vandalism to police.

Now, Andrew King, 54, of Schenectady, is facing a charge of Falsely Reporting an Incident in the Third Degree after police determined that he spray painted three swastikas on his home.

King originally reported that an unknown individual vandalized his home on February 10

The growing question in my mind is about what percent of this kind of reported crime are hoaxes--specifically one's reported by "progressives" or aligned "progressive" victim groups where the presumed perpetrators would be right wing. Reading the sources I do, I usually only hear about it when its found out as a hoax.

Of course it would be a hard study to make, since obviously a lot of hoaxes could remain undiscovered.
