A facial recognition app that can identify strangers from a photograph has been created by a British entrepreneur.

Facezam can identify people by matching a photo of them with their Facebook profile. All users have to do is take a picture of someone on the street and run it through the app, which will tell them who it thinks the person in the photo is.

This isn’t new, I have heard of othe companies doing it. It reminds me of the movie Minority Report, when the protagonist goes to a shopping mall and signs start to target him with personalized ads based upon his retina.

Some movies are eerily prophetic. Almost as if they were conditioning the masses.

Right now my Facebook profile is a photo of my grandmother when she was a young woman over 100 years ago.

One of my Fakebook profiles features a photo of my great-great aunt in a 'Hope-N-Change' filter. (One of several fake profiles I have)

When it comes to this kind of stuff, anything I can do, the government can do a hundred times better.

I remember the first time Facebook correctly identified my wife in a photo. It was creepy.

Heh heh heh. Of course a certain giant facility in Utah would match your photo to your IP address and the device requesting the search and catalog that you were misusing their system.

Just for future reference of course.

and being as you’re the only person that matters in this world, even more so than vulnerable teenage girls, I guess it’s okay then. Your name has narcissist written next to it in the dictionary :)

I’d say “IBT what’s Facebook?” but I’m sure more than a few people have said that already.

Hope you're not looking for a job. Employers are suspicious of people with no social media footprint. They think they are either anti-social or have something to hide.

Ha. Yep, the usual denial: "If I don't participate, it can't hurt me."

Cuckerberg's construction is simply a large experiment by the Intelligence Community to map social connections and to drive cultural shifts.

If you participate in society (you do) you will be affected.
