Judge Nap: Obama 'Went Outside Chain of Command,' Used British Spy Agency to Surveil Trump
foxnews.com ^ | March 14, 2017

"Three intelligence sources have informed Fox News that President Obama went outside the chain of command," Napolitano said. "He didn't use the NSA, he didn't use the CIA, he didn't use the FBI, and he didn't use the Department of Justice."

Instead, Napolitano said, Obama used GCHQ, a British intelligence and security organization that has 24-7 access to the NSA database.

"There's no American fingerprints on this," Napolitano said. "What happened to the guy who ordered this? Resigned three days after Donald Trump was inaugurated."

Can someone explain to me then how the Brits did the surveillance?

This doesn’t make sense.

No, makes perfect sense. We spy on them, they spy on us. We have high-tech listening devices that can penetrate any network and eavesdrop; so do they. Every country spies on every other country - some do a better job than others, but we and the Brits have the best toys.

Someone had Trump and his crew under surveillance. Who did and how?

GCHQ, the British equivalent of our NSA. They did it with their toys.

How can a foreign gov’t wiretap someone here, anyone?

Happens all the time.

Is this done, and our FBI and CIA and NSA turn their eye to it?

Yep.

This is all about public perception. A back channel fed Judge Nap this little morsel to push the MSM back on their heels and gain traction in the perception game. Trump has May’s support and the chess match is on.

ECHELON was ‘old school’. It has been replaced by multiple other ‘systems’ of data gathering and analysis.

It’s unfortunate that most people are unaware of what actually goes on, and how easy it is nowadays for our government to get around little “impediments” like the FISA courts and the 4th amendment.

Ok, I LOL-ed.

I’m sorry for being British when I hear this news. I get that it’s a reciprocal deal, but it’s pretty shabby.

This gets into what was done. Go to the link and see the copy of the sticky note re Google and its Clouds re how this probably was done.

MUSCULAR (surveillance program)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

MUSCULAR (DS-200B), located in the United Kingdom,[1] is the name of a surveillance programme jointly operated by Britain’s Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) and the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) that was revealed by documents which were released by Edward Snowden and interviews with knowledgeable officials.

[2] GCHQ is the primary operator of the program.[1]GCHQ and the National Security Agency have secretly broken into the main communications links that connect the data centers of Yahoo! and Google.[3]Substantive information about the program was made public at the end of October 2013.

Overview

The programme is jointly run by:
– Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) (United Kingdom)
– U.S. National Security Agency (NSA)

MUSCULAR is one of at least four other similar programs that rely on a trusted 2nd party, programs which together are known as WINDSTOP. In a 30-day period from December 2012 to January 2013, MUSCULAR was responsible for collecting 181 million records. It was however dwarfed by another WINDSTOP program known (insofar) only by its code DS-300 and codename INCENSER, which collected over 14 billion records in the same period.[4]

Operational details:

According to the leaked document the NSA’s acquisitions directorate sends millions of records every day from internal Yahoo! and Google networks to data warehouses at the agency’s headquarters at Fort Meade, Maryland. The programme operates via an access point known as DS-200B, which is outside the United States, and it relies on an unnamed telecommunications operator to provide secret access for the NSA and the GCHQ.[3]

According to the Washington Post, the MUSCULAR program collects more than twice as many data points (“selectors” in NSA jargon) compared to the better known PRISM.[2] Unlike PRISM, the MUSCULAR program requires no (FISA or other type of) warrants.

Because of the huge amount of data involved, MUSCULAR has presented a special challenge to NSA’s Special Source Operations. For example, when Yahoo! decided to migrate a large amount of mailboxes between its data centers, the NSA’s PINWALE database (their primary analytical database for the Internet) was quickly overwhelmed with the data coming from MUSCULAR.[5]

Closely related programmes are called INCENSER and TURMOIL. TURMOIL, belonging to the NSA, is a system for processing the data collected from MUSCULAR.[1]

According to a post-it style note from the presentation, the exploitation relied on the fact that (at the time at least) data was transmitted unencrypted inside Google’s private cloud, with “Google Front End Servers” stripping and respectively adding back SSL from/to external connections. According to the Washington Post: “Two engineers with close ties to Google exploded in profanity when they saw the drawing.”

After the information about MUSCULAR was published by the press, Google announced that it was working on deploying encrypted communication between its datacenters.[2]

They have always monkeyed around in ours, and we monkey around in theirs.

It’s part of our “Special Relationship”.

This “special relationship” started under Truman, Went to Ike, to JFK, to LBJ, to Nixon, to Carter, to Reagan, to Bushco1, to Clinton, to GW, to Obama and now Trump can use it to have the Brits or their commonwealth countries monitor us.

Thats an impeachable offence.

If it is not a crime, it certainly is cause for a civil suit.

Presidnet Trump should sue Obama and his political organization for BILLIONS of dollars.

The security sharing agreement with Great Britain should come to an abrupt end.The Brits do not have enough oversight on their end.

One can imagine that this system is also being abused by the Brits. using US intelligence resources in Britain.

Welcome to the world of international liberal fascism.

So it would appear that British MP Louise Mensch’s stories in Heat Street about FISA surveillance of Trump were probably a way for GCHQ to cover their tracks by floating a story pointing somewhere away from themselves.

Heck, the Aussie PM’s didn’t know about this agreement until 1973.

“Due to its status as a secret treaty, its existence was not known to the Prime Minister of Australia until 1973,[14] and it was not disclosed to the public until 2005!”

Wonder how many Uk PMs knew about this beside Maggie. Some of them were so flaming red during the cold war.

No, my point is the FBI, CIA, NSA must of known about the spying and turned a blind eye to it.

OTOH, Trump was a private citizen and not in the confines of the WH, so he would be easy prey for someone like the Brits, but who ordered them to do this?

If Obama did he should come down hard on the guy. I mean have someone else present an iron clad case of it.

Remember, they didn’t expect Trump to win.
