A single, worldwide time zone has been in place for many years in Aviation and other industries: it’s galled Zulu Time (military) or GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). All on a 24-hour clock.
What about a metric clock with 10-hour days?
Funny!
Yesterday there was a notice in an Opera group that I am part of that there would be a broadcast today at 1 PM of a program of interest from Europe. This morning I looked at a website (Operacast) that lists such things and they said that broadcast would begin at 2 PM, but they also said it would begin at 1800 GMT, so I knew Operacast was probably correct and the other folks were wrong.
Besides Daylight Savings Time can weaken Iowa schoolchildren's resistance to Communism! (See my post from yesterday about this.)
ML/NJ
Am I +5 or +6 GMT?
DST sucks
