President Trump: Wipe Out Starvation in Central Africa
Freep | 3/11/2016 | CharlesOconnell

Worst Humanitarian Crisis since 1945

Twenty million people at risk of starvation in Somalia, South Sudan, Yemen, NE Nigeria.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/u-n-says-world-faces-largest-humanitarian-crisis-since-1945-1489223549

My Congressman, McClintock CA 4th, represents rice farmers. All these countries eat rice.

We pay farmers billions not to grow food. No starvation is natural. All starvation is man-made geo-political manipulation, slow motion murder for political power gain.

Please ask the President to declare an international crisis. A new Marshall Plan for Africa.

Bomb them with food. What a positive PR blizzard for the Trump Administration.

It is our problem because they will migrate to Europe. Then it’s America Alone.

RE: Not our problem

“The concept of Christian charity (yes,I understand that you may not be Christian) suggests otherwise.”

Sorry, “Christian Charity” is about YOU doing what you are called to do, not using the force of Big Government to do it with MY money.

You wanna help? Get on a plane, write a check, raise private money from your friends, but please, leave me out of it.

Kind of a cold-cruel natural law. Less food and fewer resources, fewer people.

Scary to think what might happen if we lost our industrial economy. It has allowed us to thrive and grow but take it away and we know what will happen.

BTW, it is the same industrial economy that many on the left hate. Do they realize and are they able to make the connection? I don't think so. They are nose-spite-face stupid.

What a positive PR blizzard for the Trump Administration.

Would it do as you claim? I think the chances are slim to none for a myriad of reasons.

We have tried, unsuccessfully, to do that here in this country for more than 50 years now. Currently there are 45 million people on food stamps, and complaints are lodged daily that it is not enough.

In Africa there are many forces and many nations at play that are themselves the root cause of this problem. So do we really want to spend blood and treasure on a problem for which just supplying food is not the cure that would help those most in need? Primarily because logistically getting it to them may in fact be impossible.

I think President Trump has enough on his plate right now. Perhaps he could and should make a comment on it and devote some food resources to the problem if charities step up to dispense them. In addition he could call out other nations to share in the effort. But I wouldn't really want him to get too engaged in the problem. Unfortunately once he becomes engaged at all, they will then want more engagement from him.

Feed them now and there will be four times as many moving to Europe 20 years from now.

The Euros need to muster the resolve today to turn back the invasion. By lethal force if necessary.

Wrong—Sounds good to feed the hungry but it would not work—Food given would be seized by corrupt governments —sold so they would live like emperors of old-—The people would still starve. My answer—invade and seize the so-called nations—run them like empires of old and make sure the people get the food. Best answer—do zip and let starvation, revolution, horror and death fix the problems. I look to see a “Black Napoleon” come forward and rule a post tribal Africa. Ultimately, only Africans can solve the problems of Africa.

Twenty million people at risk of starvation in Somalia, South Sudan, Yemen, NE Nigeria.

The primary problem in all of those nations is Islam.

It’s not our problem

It is wrong to do nothing and let victims starve to death

“root cause”?

How about a bunch of Population Control fascists who insist that we never assist with meaningful energy development or irrigation.

Then they blackmail them by insisting they participate in sterilization, contraception, and abortion, as condition of shipping them food.

Did I mention that shipping them food completely undermines any local incentive to grow their own crops?

They give an entire village a single solar panel to light a 40 watt lightbulb and then declare to the world that they’ve done great things and “electrified the village with renewable energy”!
(oh....and they charged the American taxpayer $1 Million for this “humanitarian project”.)

I didn’t know Yemen was in Central Africa. You learn something new every day.

It is wrong to use the mechanism of government to force participation in the redistribution of wealth. It is doubly wrong to do so when the recipients of such forced largesse are in a foreign country.

Nope, sorry, not our problem. If they want to TRADE with us, that’s fine. But Trump is the President of the UNITED STATES, not of Africa. I’ve had it with America trying to solve the world’s problems. They hate us twice as much when we try, and the problems don’t get solved anyway.

>The West has dumped Trillions into Africa! Can anyone show a return for the money we have spent?

Well yes we can...we now have many thousands of backwards and islamics freeloading here in America.

They rape, rob and infiltrate our freedoms. Disgusting filth.

If you want to really destroy the few small-scale, self-sufficient farmers, traders and distributors who exist in Sudan or Somalia, then drop a whole lot of US Government subsidized rice on them.

OK,two questions:

1) Am I correct to believe that this nation was founded on Christian (or Judeo Christian) principles?

2) Did any of you have the same attitude toward helping the people of Louisiana and Mississippi after Katrina...or helping people in Tornado Alley after a dozen F5s roar through Texas,Kansas,Missouri and Iowa?

Hint:Question #2 is a trick question
