Speaking of Brahms, here is a late work that is just plain beautiful.

Brahms: Clarinet Sonata in E-flat, Op. 120/2, first movement

I have seen Zappa live five times.

Never got served pancakes though.

Maybe they were being served over where the huskies go.

(As an Inuit, I am particularly fond of the memories evoked by the infamous “Don’t Eat the Yellow Snow”.

I’ll take any glimmer of hope at this point!

Only a month...one day at a time.

Slowly but surely we're getting near Spring but still too chilly.

How about your end of Winter?

I still get carded. I think they are told to card everyone. I usually tell them they have to guess who was President when I was born (it was Eisenhower) before I give them the ID. Most of the kids behind the counter usually guess Nixon or Reagan (I do look young for my age) but most don’t know who Ike was.

Except for the wise guy a month ago. I asked him who was President when I was born and he smiled and said “Lincoln.”

According to this quiz, I’m 23 - and so I was, about 25 years ago. If only quizzes could make it so =).

You are 74 years old. Right now you're probably wondering why we forgot to mention Frank Sinatra. Fair point.
EEK!

Nope. Not gonna click on the link. No way. I’d rather click on the attachment in crudely written email advising me I’ve won the English lottery.

The first line of my riddle “I believe in Father Christmas” is a line from a song by Emerson, Lake, And Palmer, which steals from Lt. Kije’s Sleigh Ride.

The second line is from Sting’s “Russians” which steals from Lt. Kije’s “Romance”

So a Great Jeopardy question could be:

These two pop songs steal themes from Prokofiev’s Lt. Kije.

And the answer would be:
Father Christmas and Russians.
