They don’t have 60 seats. They can’t repeal the whole thing. That’s just the facts.
Why can they then repeal part of it with <60 votes?
They control the senate. They control the senate rules. WWHRD? Fifty and the VP!
I call B.S. on that. It wasn’t passed with 60 votes, so it sure as hell can be repealed with less than 60 votes.
Bullshit.
They can do whatever the Hell they want.
And they obviously do no want to repeal it.
What a bunch of skunks.
That’s not right. It was passed via reconciliation. It only takes a majority for repeal...same way they were able to pass it with less than 60 after Scott Browns surprise win.
The Democrats did not have 60 seats to pass it.
Not buying the excuses.
When wages withholding for health insurance in a paycheck exceeded federal tax withholding the government went all in. They will never give it up.
They wouldn’t do it if they had 80 seats. They want to keep it as intact as possible.
It passed with less than 60. It can be done
The senate has 52 gop seats. The only reason that isn’t sufficient is because they won’t get rid of the disingenuous and duplicitous filibuster.
But that’s really academic. There is no number of senate seats that will suffice for these bums to do what they were elected to do. They could have 99 seats in the senate, the entire house, 49 legislatures, all the governorships, the Presidency, all seats on the supreme court....and still, the gop would be positing reasons why they just can’t get it done.
The simpler and more honest reason is the gop never had any intention whatsoever of doing what it was elected to do. They were as surprised as hitlery on November 8th; they expected to go back to their long term role as the “loyal opposition:”, with their snouts firmly wedged in the public trough. They were surprised, nay horrified to find that they had won. And here we see the result.
“””They dont have 60 seats. They cant repeal the whole thing. Thats just the facts.”””
When they repealed it under Obama they did not have 60 votes. Correct?
The facts are these, Mitch can break the filibuster and repeal this tin, he won't have another chance. This Ryan-McConnel bill will likely cost us the Senate in two years.
If the Uniparty had any real plan to defeat ObamaCare why would they fund it 100% since it passed and even worse they refused to force the President to obey they law and move the bill forward allowing him to postpone the pain of this monstrosity until he left office.
Millions love Trump but several million voted for Trump because they couldn't believe a word the UniParty said. If they start to feel they can't believe Trump, they will drop him like a hot rock. Then where will we be?
We have some downers on these threads because we don't want him to fail, he is someone that genuinely loves this country and the people, but we feel some of his closest advisors don't share our values, hopes and dreams for our Republic.
Maybe Ryan can muster up the votes for full repeal, then walk the bill to the floor of the Senate and, on camera, tell the the boys and girls there that they ALL promised to repeal Obamacare and if they dont they will be going home (or better yet, going to lobbying firms in DC) come 2018!
“They dont have 60 seats. They cant repeal the whole thing. Thats just the facts.”
If democrats gain control of the senate you can bet your sweet ass they would pass...oh I don’t know...semi auto/magazine bans without 60. Repubs just don’t seem to want to do it. Yellow bastards.
