Parse it all you want, but if some ignorant slut tries to simply “put a kid to sleep” while she goes out and whores around, she still should be choked to death...screw her.
Was there any reasonable doubt that the child was murdered? No.
Was there any reasonable doubt that Casey did it? No.
The question isn't about what forensic evidence didn't exist, it's about what evidence did exist. The insistence on having some scientific trail proving the murderer is a product of too many TV shows. It's not real life.
We'll just have to agree to disagree. I didn't think they proved their case then and I still don't.
We didn't need the coroner to say that. The circumstances showed that she had been murdered. Children that die of natural causes aren't found decomposed in bags in a field. That's a judgement we can make. That a jury can make.
This is my point. There's an unreasonable demand that forensic evidence prove what we can still know through other means. It does not have to be forensic evidence to be proof beyond a reasonable doubt.
The circumstances of the body, and the mother's behavior, count. In this case they were enough. It was only the unreasonable demand for forensic proof that prevented a guilty verdict.

yes, if the evidence points to murder; the fact that she partied after the death doesn’t point to murder...it points to a despicable skank, but not necessarily to a murderer...
