Officials in one Arizona border town are opposed to President Donald Trump’s border wall to restrict illegal immigration.
“A wall would only represent a slap to the face of our Mexican neighbors,” John Doyle, mayor of border town Nogales, Ariz., told USA TODAY. “It sends the wrong signal to the rest of the world.”
Nogales, Ariz. and Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, are separated currently by a largely ineffective border fence. Many on the U.S. side of town, including county sheriff Tony Estrada, have friendships and familial ties across the border.

I am of the opinion that illegals who are here in the US illegally are a blatant slap in the face to all American citizens.

I’m sure there will be a gate that Mexicans with a visa can pass through. The Mexicans that come over daily to dump their kids in our schools and use our healthcare may not like it, but the taxpayers should.
The Mexican government is willing to pay $50,000,000 to keep their citizens in the United States.

A slap in the face is to those who came here legally who pay taxes, and have had their family or property hurt or even worse death by illegals.
And their repeated violations of our borders are what, a kiss on the lips?
He probably got told to take the money and make an anti-wall statement, or risk the consequences. Many mayors in Mexico have been murdered.
Translation: He’s on the take.
Eleven million of them here illegally is okay, but building a wall so they can only come legally is “a slap in the face”. Okay, no point in reasoning with that person.
