Will Christians roll over and allow Disney to push their LGBT agenda on an audience entirely too young to be exposed to this nonsense by buying a ticket, and thereby supporting, the studio’s highly anticipated remake of a beloved children’s classic?
Conservative evangelist Franklin Graham is calling on Christians to put their money where their mouth is when it comes to the upcoming Disney Beauty and the Beast remake.

“Disney has aired a cartoon with same-sex couples kissing. It has also been announced that their new movie “Beauty and the Beast” will feature a gay character in an attempt to normalize this lifestyle. They’re trying to push the LGBT agenda into the hearts and minds of your children—watch out! Disney has the right to make their cartoons, it’s a free country. But as Christians we also have the right not to support their company. I hope Christians everywhere will say no to Disney. I met Walt Disney when I was a young boy—he was very gracious to me, my father Billy Graham, and my younger brother when we visited. He would be shocked at what has happened to the company that he started.” The controversy erupted when director Bill Condon told Attitude Magazine that one of his film’s characters, LeFou, has an “exclusively gay moment” on-screen with villain Gaston.
“LeFou is somebody who on one day wants to be Gaston and on another day wants to kiss Gaston,” Condon said. “He’s confused about what he wants. It’s somebody who’s just realizing that he has these feelings. And Josh [Gad, who plays LeFou] makes something really subtle and delicious out of it. And that’s what has its pay-off at the end, which I don’t want to give away. But it is a nice, exclusively gay moment in a Disney movie.”
Graham’s comments could merely be the opening salvo. On Friday, Time reported an Alabama movie theater’s announced refusal to screen the movie when it releases on March 17.
Naturally, social justice warrior types have praised Disney’s openness and “inclusivity,” but might Disney have crossed a bridge too far by including their social justice warrior nonsense in a movie that depends on an entirely different demographic to be successful?
Thanks for your consideration. I know no one who wants to go to either place right now. In a few years, when they are older, my daughter and her husband will want to take their children somewhere but there are plenty of options available.
PS. Mrs. Potts is supposed to be a Contralto, so that is absolute PROOF that what you stated is the TRUTH.

The same thing happened to one of my students, Liz, a Soprano, who was cast as Anita in West Side Story, while a wishy-washy lyric soprano was cast as Maria. It was ABSOLUTELY political, but I assured Liz that “Anita” was actually a better role. More Powerful, Interesting, and Exciting. Then I introduced her to the Opera “Carmen” where the Lyric Soprano (Micaela) was not nearly as interesting as the “Bad Girl Mezzo Soprano” (Carmen) and compared the roles.

She is doing well - 4.0 freshman in college - biology (pre-med) major, minor in music! sings in the University singers and was given a solo and they are performing in Washington at the Cathedral in a few weeks with her performing the solo ... and she is playing chamber violin as part of the music minor.
The story is actually worse- the girl was my daughter’s best friend and my daughter had been out all of junior year recovering from a bone marrow transplant at Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia the summer prior to junior year, as she had suffered from a bone marrow failure disease. Praise God the transplant was 100% successful and she had recovered on schedule (year recovery if all goes well) and was expecting to be Belle. The girl basically back stabbed our daughter as she knew full well Regina was slated for the part and used that year to get in with the new directors. The director that had retired has a very talented son who was going to be the Beast and our daughter was to be Belle since 8th grade, when she was Adelaide in Guys and Dolls.
OK - done - can you imagine?? It was largely done for the girl’s college creds as she was trying to get into Yale and as you probably are aware the outside activities needed to look amazing (such as a lead) to get into the Ivies, as well as the academics, etc. Ironically the girl did not get into the Ivies (went to Hamilton and hates it) and all this was for naught. My daughter still allows her to be friends with her ! My daughter is bigger than I am yet I am happy she is - I don’t try to poison this (of course, as Christian).
Finally - this girl and her entire family are big liberals and the girl’s father is a known lobbyist in New York State’s corrupt Albany goings on. So they train them young to be little Alinsky’s! It hurts when it hits home. Liberals are awful and have no souls or consciences and are capable of anything to further their own interests. The new directors who made the blatant cast-against-type decision were both nasty liberal feminist women types as well.
I do feel better sharing this with an anonymous outsider who gets it. Thanks!

yes!!!! I had to fight tooth and nail to get them to transpose it into a higher key for my daughter’s voice. They did - they knew she needed a higher key but at first resisted because it would have taken some trouble because the orchestra, etc, needs the new key for the “Beauty and the Beast” song.
Now lest one think I was an interfering stage mother type and obnoxious - I was not - I stayed outside the fray and said not a word and simply sent an e mail requesting the key change worded very politely. To top it off - I lobbied some big corporations - including Air Liquide (Union Carbide), Corning fiberglass, and some other local manufacturing companies in the local area for funding and successfully raised $1,200.00 for the production even though she was given Potts.
Final: at the production someone from the Harrt school of Music in Ct. was there watching a different relative student altogether and she came up to my daughter after the show and told her her voice was amazing and she ought to go on to college for voice and said not a word to “Belle”.

I know whereof I speak. One of my students was cast in a role that SHOULD have gone to a guy, but there weren’t enough boys interested in being in the production. Her song was in the Locrian Mode, which is a difficult scale for Western Ears, AND it was too low for her. Since that production was done with backing tracks, we could NOT change the key, so I had to train her lower register (designing new vocal exercises in the Locrian Mode) so that she could sing the part. She did fine, but it was a huge miscasting on the part of the director. (a teacher.)

I MEANT that — in the ‘70’s — I knew people who had been working at the park when Walt was still living; a few of whom were still working there. Uniformly, they noted the contrast in cultures, and mourned the degeneration.
Specific boycotts like this are good, boycotting this movie, as opposed to boycotting Disney in general.
Belle needs to be beautiful. Watson is pretty.

Absolutely. The so-called media represents a master manipulator that bends, twists and turns cultures and values to suit their agenda. That agenda is for media insider elites to get very rich and politically more powerful, while either indoctrinating or dividing the little people with vile liberal ideas.
BTW I am not at all anti gay. But I’m anti the liberal media cabal types that constantly push this stuff at our faces and society, while they trash and discredit traditional values and Christianity.

Disney is reporting presales are high. how many buy in advance and how easy is it to game the numbers.
The key is to talk to people.
