If you want a real mess.....it is decorating Christmas cookies with a couple pre-schoolers and a grandmother with PCD LOL!!!!!!!!!!! My dad and I would sit in the other room and just laugh at the goings on......it was epic! (and do was the mess....I had Sprinkles left in the carpet to feed the Easter Bunny ;-)

I actually think there should be a tax deduction added for people that pay for their insurance out right. To match what employer sponsored plans get. But just make it equal, that the amount can be a deduction only. No free handouts!
Or make none of it tax-deductible. The free market should be working without government interference.

The purpose of the tax credit is to make it more equal. Allowing them to buy through a Co-op in bulk like the big companies do would be a equalizer without involving taxes. Taxes have no business being part of a healthcare bill When it’s included it does become Obamacare light

If employers use the insurance as a part of wages, give the employees the higher wage and then EVERYONE will pay for their own insurance. I am ALL for that open up markets across state lines and we all buy our own!! I have employer funded health care through the union ( I HATE unions) I would be very willing to pay for my own healthcare and they could give the cost of my healthcare in wages instead, they give up their tax credits and I have NO tax credits as well!! Sounds fair to me open market system!!! Under these circumstances there would be a HELL of a lot of people shopping for insurance and BOY those costs would come down immediately!!!

Exactly! I didn’t even think of that aspect, you are so smart. I was only thinking how unfair it’s been for decades where one group gets to deduct their insurance and others don’t.
But the fact that everyone would be shopping for insurance would make it extremely competitive. FREE MARKET!!

It could be handled in another bill later. Or rescind whatever it was that gave employees tax advantages nobody else got.
You know what Ryan’s bill shows us? That all those many many times the house voted to repeal Obamacare, it was all for show. Now when they have a chance to really do it, he caves. No surprise there. I was absolutely disgusted when he was voted speaker of the house.

CottonBall LYIN RYANS bill was done by K-street DONORS this was something Trump PROMISED us would not happen!!! This bill does NOT benefit us in ANY WAY, this bill has NOTHING to bring down the costs of premiums or deductibles for ANYONE!! So you can deduct the cost of your premiums however you are STILL paying out that money EVERY month and premiums are SKY HIGH for people!! Then what the HELL difference does it make if you can’t see the doctor because you haven’t met your 7,000- 10,000 dollar deductibles!!! This does NOTHING for the middle class family!!! As usual it does help insurance companies, employers, removes taxes for medical device companies, and on and on BUT nothing for just JOE SMITH on Main Street!!! NOTHING!!!!
