Patrick Stewart has said he is applying for US citizenship in order to "fight" Donald Trump.
On The View, he said that because of the recent election he has decided to apply for citizenship in order to join the resistance against the President.
“I’m not a [U.S.] citizen,”the actor said.
“However, there is, maybe it’s the only good thing, as the result of this election: I am now applying for citizenship. Because I want to be an American too.”
“All of my friends in Washington said, ‘There is one thing you can do. Fight, fight, oppose, oppose,’” Mr Stewart said.
He made the comments after being asked about a tweet in which he wrote: "Had the worst sleep of my life last night. But I was sleeping less than 300 yds from where Donald Trump sleeps. Could there be a connection?"

On the one hand they tell us that Trump’s America is like Hitler’s Nazi Germany, and on the other hand turn right around and this guy wants to become an American citizen.
So he is going be a LEGAL citizen? Wonderful.
However, he should be aware that he has to go to the back of the line. Wonder if he expects special privilege since he is a celebrity? Not here in the US and unlike the Monarchy of England where someone is afforded status and class from their pedigree.
And will he give up his loyalties to his country of origin? England? We were at war with England at one point in our history. “Dirty redcoats!” ;)
He’s also IN X-Men, the latest of which opens today. And he was in Dune.
Patrick why not beam back to Canada and fix your country before worrying about our.
Stewart is not gay. He likes da wimmins he does! He is on marriage #3 & has 2 grown children.

Those statements right there should be enough to DENY your application
US Citizenship should NOT be cheated by clowns like this. It is of VALUE not some silly status just so someone can spout anti American views and votes
