Pope Francis has been slammed by church officials and sex abuse survivors for cutting penalties for paedophile priests. The Pope is said to be applying his vision of a 'merciful church' to sex offenders by reducing punishments to weaker sentences, such as a lifetime of prayer and penance. It has been revealed by church officials that Pope Francis overruled advice given to him by the Vatican Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith about two priests - allowing them to be punished by a lifetime of prayer.

Does this decision by the supposed Vicar of Christ mean that God has changed his mind about pedophila?

No, it simply means that there's nothing “true” about Catholicism. Like most of the other “organized religions,” Catholicism is a fraud. Just another group in the “God Business” who are unworthy to tell you that you are unworthy while they pick your pocket. Huckstering God is a bad idea!

Without getting into the problems with Pope Francis let me say that this a false and dishonest story.
1. There are almost no “pedophile priests”. There are almost no priests that have sexually assaulted young children. The pedophiles in the priesthood are almost nonexistent and far fewer than in any other part of society.
2. In the recent past there was a small network of homosexual priests and bishops. They were a very small percentage of the total priesthood, but they worked together and promoted and protected each other. Pope John Paul II and Bishop Ratzinger worked diligently to remove these priests wherever possible.
3. The vast majority of priests are good and holy men who sacrifice for others and do much good.
4. The media creates the myth of pedophile priests because the media is strongly anti-Catholic and anti-Christian. The media hate people of faith and do everything they can to attack people of faith and religions.
5. The media almost never report honestly on the work done by good priests. They frequently spread lies about Christians and Christianity and do all they can to make Christians look bad. The false stories about pedophile priests is just one small part of this overall strategy.

I know The Daily Mail is a Brit newspaper but if they want to be in our press gaggles they should spell pedophilia right.
Don’t renounce your Catholicism because of this strange pope. You’re allegiance is to G-d through Yeshua, not him.

I don’t blame you. I promise you that in our lifetime, this Pope will advocate gay marriage.
No...it's not. I realize it's sarcasm, but there are thousands of great folks serving in the priesthood. If one focuses on the true issue, they'd recognize the whole abuse thing is a spiritual attack from within the church in an attempt to steer people away from Christ's saving grace.
