The infamous “Access Hollywood” tape — in which President Donald Trump bragged about grabbing women by the hoo-ha — was an inside job, leaked by an NBC News staffer on Billy Bush’s own “Today” show, multiple sources tell Page Six.
“The tape was leaked by the NBC News division, by somebody at the ‘Today’ show,” says one source. “NBC News knew for a while about the existence of the tape. Billy himself had told them about it. People in the news division became frustrated that ‘Access Hollywood’ was taking too long to air it and decided it had to come out.”
“Access” had been working on airing a sanitized version of the tape, which revealed Trump’s comments but protected Bush by editing out his. But the full tape, which was leaked to the Washington Post, featured Bush goading the president. The leak got Bush fired from “Today,” which was, according to the source, part of the plan.
“The leaked tape served a dual purpose: It helped get Bush out of the way — Matt Lauer didn’t like him and felt he was a liability — and NBC thought it would derail Trump,” says the source. “But all it did was crush Billy, and, ironically, his own network was behind it.”

The story I remember is he was giving a tour of Plains,GA to some middle east dignitaries. He had the limo pull over so he could letergo on the wall of a building on main st.

Re: post 25, I agree that the tape has allowed many females to go batsh## crazy against Trump, calling him a bully and bringing up their own history of being bullied. I’ve encountered strange behavior from some longtime friends where they rant on social media on and on and on. In one case I asked a friend privately, do you really believe what you’re posting, the person jumped all over me with language that sounds like they went off their meds. It’s disappointing and distressing. In one case where I emailed a friend from a social group I’m in that I’m unfriending people who do political posts because I only want to see photos of people’s pets or vacation pics in my inbox and don’t take it personally, I got a return message, I’ll save you the trouble. The person unfriended me. Thank you. BTW I do welcome conservative posts on social media.
I am only glad that Billy Bush did not leak the tape.

I have noted a common tendency for people to descend into madness when certain emotional stimulus is applied. Otherwise normal and rational people will let fly with their primal shriek if you but stumble upon the combination of thoughts that will set them off.
We all like to believe we are rational, but many of us believe ridiculous things and will come apart if challenged on the ridiculous things we believe.
I used to think this phenomena was mostly related to liberals/Democrats, whom I have always perceived to be more emotional than logical, but now I realize it is a common trait among conservatives and Republicans too.

We should be thankful for this leaker. After all, NBC News was going to use this as their October surprise - the “gotcha” that would assure Hillary’s election. This leaker just couldn’t wait so the tape came out in September, allowing time for damage control and changing the subject (thanks, Wikileaks and James Comey).
Now the left grabs their pussyhats to march and rant against Trump so, really, how much of the response wasn’t outrage but manufactured outrage?
I now use the pussyhats to mock and make fun of liberals that I hear whine too much (”Oh, go grab your pussyhats and start another march! - WAAH, WAAH, WAAH”)

You could present this transcript of what Trump actually said to a lib, go through it word by word, and they would still believe Trump is bragging about assaulting women.
For this situation to end Adams says one side's expectations need to be violated in ways that even cognitive dissonance can’t explain away. In truth, I can't imagine that happening.
To be fair, pancreatic cancer runs in the Carter family and is probably the deadliest type of cancer out there. It got Billy and then Carter’s sister Ruth. Somehow Jimmy lives on either because of superior medical care given to Presidents in and after office or because God just doesn’t want to call that anti-semitic hypocrite to Heaven until it just can’t be avoided any longer.
