When 23-year-old Sahar Kian needed a roommate for her home near Georgetown University, she turned to Craigslist. Among her house rules? No alcohol, pets or meat products. And no supporters of President Donald Trump... Kian also insisted that her ad did not discriminate against "political differences."... Kian responded that her house rules aren't a case of "extreme vetting," a phrase Trump has used to describe the review process he intends to make newly arriving immigrants and refugees undergo, and that she wouldn't "drill" potential roommates on their political beliefs.

I’d have announced to the entire joint why the owner just lost your business and walked out.
Not sure you’d be able to find food within driving distance if you go that route.
It actually worked to our advantage. Constant bullying meant that Repubs “kept calm, and carried on” and totally SHOCKED Dems with victory of Trump. They had so effectively silenced anyone seeking civility that they had NO IDEA how far they were behind in the polls the entire time; surely they would have worked harder to steal the vote. Hard facts didn’t matter (negative demographics) - they knew what they heard in their day to day lives was unanimous for Hillary. Then we won and some realized we just weren’t talking about Trump; we waited to vote for him.
I’ve been saying for a while there are many on the Left who would send us to reeducation camp if they could. I’m not getting on that bus.
She would get a craigslist ad for a garage sale every Sunday morning at 7am, or a lesbian meet up on Sat night at 12 midnight if I had her address.
I’ve been wondering whether to do Chinese or BBQ with the remainder of a package of boneless pork ($1.47/lb). BBQ it is! No driving anywhere or paying a ridiculous $10-15 a take out plate. Turn last night’s leftover mashed potatoes into potato salad, thaw some frozen home cooked pinto beans, sliced onions and pickles on the side and a big pitcher of sweet tea, yum. Easy peasy.
You are braver than me, re what else is in her den and on the blackboard.
Who’d want to live with her? It’d be kinda cool if she didn’t find a roommate at all and had to pay the rent all by her lonesome. Won’t happen, tho. There are more than nough vegan lefties in Georgetown who’d fit right in.
I’m glad you have time - those who care for large families, are unwell themselves, or work 2+ jobs sometimes don’t have time to cook. Bon Appetit!
BS. Anybody can choose a roommate according to personal preferences.
Plenty of other stuff to get up in arms about, not this.
Most kids by age 10 are capable of having dinner on the table when you get home.
That’s why pressure cookers and slow cookers were invented. Five minutes of hands on time with those and dinner is ready. Sure, a holiday weekend bbq might take longer but the general rule in this kitchen is no more than half an hour. Big deal, the coals heat on their own or a gas grill takes no time. Compare that to the shortest round trip here for take out, with calling it in ahead of time, takes about an hour and 15-20 minutes so by then the food is cold. No contest which is easier and quicker.
Never understood why people freak out over Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Oooh, it’s too much trouble! Can’t do it all! Have to start the week before! Phooey. Put the bird in the oven at 7 am and call everyone to the table at noon. Every other dish can be made during that time with lots of kick back and relax time. Our 10 year old daughter did the entire meal and pies from scratch by herself when I was in bed one year with pneumonia. The only time she asked for help was dad getting the hot turkey out of the oven and how much sage to put in the dressing.
"Ridicule is mans most potent weapon. There is no defense. Its irrational. Its infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions."

We’re not going to agree on this. Life can be more complicated than the easy peasy way. Picking the 10 year old up at school on the way home means she didn’t make dinner and not all 10 year olds can be trusted with that task. My friend is physically exhausted caring for her special needs baby with cancer and sometimes she prefers to sleep on the floor in his room so she can monitor while he naps but that means dinner isn’t ready when the other children come home. She cooks and freezes when she can but sometimes she prefers to take a bath, do laundry and make endless calls to doctors and medical insurance carriers. I’m glad your life works the way you want it to. I acknowledge that others have different lives with different complications.
They all would have been happy. And those are the best ribs anywhere around here. I would get nothing from making a scene.
which is why I am very happy I moved to north east FL.
Never hear of anyone bashing the President here.
The “no meat” requirement would have done it for me.
Looks like she lives in an unpermitted added on Porch.

Smart landlords should post “Blue Lives Matter” signs on their property to weed out liberals.
The name would have done it for me; if unavailable, the accent when I called would have done it for me...
