This is probably actually technically correct.
The answer (for both shooters and nonshooters who believe in shooters’ freedoms) should be “That is a private matter.”
And a simple no comment is all he’ll get, too. Except he’ll also get replaced, of course.
Trust none of them.
Even the good ones are bound by their professional regulations.
...and a patient can then put out notification on social media that this Dr is against our Constitution. Fine.
He can ask all he wants.
All of my family will always say that we have no guns.
Free speech is an expression of an idea.
Preventing a doctor from asking about guns is regulating commerce.
So, basically, the doctor is asking if your house and family is protected or not. Hmmmm...
A doctor that asks the question should be severely beaten about the head and shoulders until she can’t ask more questions that day
My new doctor (3 years ago) asked me if I had any guns at home. I said “I’ve got one in my pocket and another in the truck but I’ll have to go home if you want more.” She wrote something down and never mentioned it again.
“Do you own a motor vehicle or ever go anywhere near any of them?”
would be a far more legal and far more sensible question, given that MANY MANY times as many people are injured or killed in vehicle accidents than with firearms of any type
I talk guns with my GP. He has a bolt action rifle in .243 Winchester and a Ruger mini 14, .223. No problem with Doc and me. We keep trying to get together to hit the range. He hates public ranges and I told him to let me know when he wants to go to my club’s private range.
Also he collects fossils and has them in his office. I gave him some Devonian period rocks with fossils that are all over my deer hunting camp.
And we can lie.
No problem with lying.
The MSM does it all the time.
A bigger issue to address is : are doctors being REQUIRED to ask, and by whom? THAT requiring entity is who we should be going after.
Since when does free speech apply to a private corporate setting? The court case should lie in whether or not the government can require the question be asked? If ones doctor feels the need to ask it, the it’s either a lead in to an invitation to join him shooting or a clear signal you need to find a doctor who’s ideology matches yours...
This is a crock of crap from another black robed group of fascists.
All responses to that question should be “It’s none of your business.”
:blinks eyes innocently:
Never tell your doctor anything you do not want a judge to know.
The American Medical Association had input into the design of electronic medical records systems just as they did medical coding.
And they had the question “Do you own a gun?” built into many EMR systems as a standard or necessary question.
