When Obama took office:

• Chris Stevens was alive.
• There was no ISIS.
• Iraq was self governed and more or less stable.
• Iran didn't have mountains of untraceable US and European cash.
• Libya and Syria were not hostile to the US.
• Terrorist attacks in Paris, Nice, Germany, the UK, and elsewhere were unthinkable.
• Women could walk the streets of Sweden without being raped by "refugees".
• In fact, there was no refugee crisis.
• GITMO terrorists weren't back on the battlefield yet.
• Inner cities all over the US didn't riot every few months.
• People graduated college and thought they could get jobs.
• Costs for health care didn't skyrocket every year.
• Democrats still won elections.

Here are some of my answers/opinions, with references.

We had 82 straight months of private sector job growth – the longest streak in the history of the United States.

A lot of Americans who have gone from working full time jobs with benefits to multiple part time jobs without benefits might not be impressed.

Especially considering where he the economy was when he took over, an amazing 11.3 million new jobs were created under President Obama (far more than President Bush).

But who caused the financial meltdown in the first place?

Obama has taken Unemployment from 10% down to 4.7%.

It was 4.4% when the Democrat controlled congress replaced the Republican controlled congress in 2007, and that was with a much higher participation rate.

He saved the US Auto industry. American cars sold at the beginning of his term were 10.4M and upon his exit 17.5M.

Hardly. Ford didn't take his bailout. GM could have survived a normal bankruptcy but chose the bailout instead. And Chrysler went from being an American owned company (Cerebus) to a foreign nameplate that builds all of its cars and many of its trucks outside of the country.

The deficit as a percentage of the GDP has gone from 9.8% to 3.2%. The deficit itself was cut by $800 Billion Dollars.

But is still billions higher than it was when the democrat controlled congress replaced the Republican controlled Congress.

I see one of the disconnects between real people and rats. Rats apparently think that making a statistic improve actually improves performance. That’s true in some cases but often not. It’s like the unemployment stat - use the number that looks the best rather than the one that reflects the actual number of people out of work. Sort of like a baseball pitcher that points to their wins or saves total when the underlying data shows that they were really not pitching well, just got lucky with a counting stat.

One of my favorite books is a slim little volume written in the 50’s - “How To Lie with Statistics” by Darrell Huff. It’s available in pdf for free at various places on the net - would post a link if I knew how so just google it. Won’t take long to read, and it provides insight into the rats’ game. They are absolute masters at lying with statistics so the rubes think things are improving when they aren’t.

When Obama took office the national debt was $9.6 trillion.
When he left office 8 years later it was $20 trillion.
That is more debt accrued during the Obama years than the combined debt of his 43 predecessors.
That fact will never make the front pages of major newspapers, or national TV news networks ... rest assured.

It can take 10-20 years to plan, conduct, and execute a space program of this magnitude. The only credit that Obama can take on this program is the possibility that he voted as a junior senator for funding to continue the program. Chances are the only thing he did was show up for a photo op.

Obama had little to nothing to do with the Curiosty rover program. Even as Senator, given his voting record, it's likely he voted "present" as he did for 95% of the bills during his time in the Senate.
