As The White House tries to put the Flynn disappointment behind them, The New York Times appears to be resurrecting an old story with a new angle to keep the 'blame the Russians' narrative alive. Following FISA court approval (to spy on Trump's campaign), intercepted calls reportedly show "repeated contact" between Trump advisor Paul Manafort and senior Russian intelligence officials... but reveal no collusion.

From the earlier report in January:"A new report released today features both the FBI seeking to launch a surveillance operation against an active US presidential campaign, and the ultra-rare case of the FISA courts actually turning down an FBI request to conduct surveillance against somebody...
Though the four are not directly named in the report, it is related to claims in a dossier of Russia having substantial blackmail dirt on Trump, and that dossier centered heavily around accusations against a handful of Trump campaign personnel, including Carter Page, Paul Manafort, and Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, along with Trumps personal lawyer Michael Cohen, meaning some of them may well be among the targets.
Where’s the evidence? #fakenews from the turds at the New Yawk Slimes.
I seem to recall that the NY Times has a long history of cozying up to the Soviets by a reporter named Walter Duranty. He was their Moscow Bureau Chief for about 14 years, and filed extremely favorable reports about the wonders of the Soviet Union, and all the bad stuff others were saying about them were all lies. There was no famine in Ukraine or purges, all lies, according to Duranty. The NY Times published all of his stuff without question, and even submitted his stuff to get him a Pulitzer Prize, and they fell for it as well.
That was #fakenews then, and this whole Russia thing is #fakenews now.
Further info in the NYT article says that “sometimes they don’t know they are talking with Russian operatives since they are well embedded in the society”
It’s all FakeNews meant to disrupt Trump’s agenda. The more we let it consume the news cycle, the more it becomes higher profile. Trump will ignore this and move forward, knowing full well who his friends and enemies are - and that is a fact.
Just curious——why did you call it #fakenews instead of just fakenews?
Why the hashtag?
.
Likewise the line “and the ultra-rare case of the FISA courts actually turning down an FBI request to conduct surveillance against somebody...”
Maybe the FISA court realizes opening wiretaps on VIPs with absolutely no justification is a bad idea.
Maybe being told by a FISA court “no” is a sign you’re being terminally stupid.
He fired Flynne. Nless there’s more to the story that’s dumb.
How many of them had business dealings in Russia?
Mr. Manafort, who has not been charged with any crimes, dismissed the accounts of the American officials in a telephone interview on Tuesday. This is absurd, he said. I have no idea what this is referring to. I have never knowingly spoken to Russian intelligence officers, and I have never been involved with anything to do with the Russian government or the Putin administration or any other issues under investigation today.
Mr. Manafort added, Its not like these people wear badges that say, Im a Russian intelligence officer.
Several of Mr. Trumps associates, like Mr. Manafort, have done business in Russia, and it is not unusual for American businessmen to come in contact with foreign intelligence officials, sometimes unwittingly, in countries like Russia and Ukraine, where the spy services are deeply embedded in society. Law enforcement officials did not say to what extent the contacts may have been about business.
Officials would not disclose many details, including what was discussed on the calls, which Russian intelligence officials were on the calls, and how many of Mr. Trumps advisers were talking to the Russians. It is also unclear whether the conversations had anything to do with Mr. Trump himself.
This article is pure crap. Says our intelligence officials were alarmed because Trump said he hoped the Russians had stolen Hilary’s emails and would release them. Anyone peddling that lie about an obvious sarcasm is a political pig not an analyst.
I am worried because spineless Republicans are joining the mob clamoring for a hearings and an investigation. The DC establishment is intent on deposing Trump and they have the MSM on their side. The traitors are out for blood and I don’t see them giving up.
Trumps crew had contact with Russians?
Well thats a problem.
Hillary sold herself to many nations.
Trump better get up to speed!
Of course, there’s no balance in reporting. The MSM needs to be kicked in the teeth (a figurative statement for the lurking idiots.)
Starve the parent companies: Disney, Comcast, Time Warner.
News companies should stand on their own, each entity.
By looping them into a corporation, they can run at a whopping loss if they like.
That shouldn’t be possible.
They need to be responsive to the public they serve.
I could do it either way, I just started with # to mimic all the hashtag campaigns by the left.
Indeed.
Sadly, the fascist parallels to Nazi Germany exist with corporate activism and its MSM propaganda arm. But thankfully, we haven’t suffered the same psychotic leadership at the Presidential level — ever.
The Left will never acknowledge the control it has over media and corporations. But it bitches about the imaginary fascism that exists to its right. Well at least the benefit of all this is the unambiguous identification of the individuals, institutions, celebrities, journalists, and corporations that threaten our Constitutional well being. Regrettably, we are at war.
We all must reinforce and broaden the network of citizens that have made today possible. Arguably, this is more important than whatever Trump can do while POTUS.
Mike Cernovich says we’re losing on enthusiasm now. Says the women’s march was real and organic and conservatives just dropped off the map after the election.
If we’re going to organize, we’d better do it soon. Sharks are circling and don’t see us as a threat.
I feel the same level urgency, but I’m also mindful of the unheralded turnout for Trump that happened throughout the Country. I attempted to attend one of the events, but the long lines that spanned many blocks made that an impossibility. And I live in a blue state.
>> If were going to organize, wed better do it soon.
Definitely. We must all continue to reach out, reinforce, and volunteer. In numbers we’re ahead, but Goebbels has a lock on the MSM, and that requires a correction.
