Probably because you’re not old enough. The ones in the late 50’s had the lever which gave you, I believe, an extra gallon of gas. But when it was empty, it was really empty - not even fumes left. Didn’t take much to push it to the nearest gas station, as I recall.

The left and media will be trying to create another Katrina, for sure. I guess we’ll be seeing how well prepared the remnants of Obama’s FEMA actually are.
Not ghoulish enough yet. When the deaths occur, they media will act like it came out of the blue, but was Trump’s fault in the buildup and aftermath.
I don’t know that part of California but I’d suspect Republican with no large urban concentrations of minorities and illegals and Democrats. The state will say they did everything by the book, blah, blah, blah.
To my knowledge the lake that feeds it is a State controlled affair. I haven’t seen anything about an Army Corps of Engineers so I’d GUESS that all this is on state funding, oversight and actions. But I could be wrong.
No it does not. Looks like the spillway is broke over halfway up and some seriously bad erosion going on.

Wow. So there’s more going on here than meets the eye. An emergency valve was damaged and never repaired? Is this known by many people?
God bless you and your wife. I just checked news reports. They are now saying the dam is is not in danger and it is only the spillway that needs repair. But, who knows what the real story is.
