The Oroville Dam is the highest in the nation.
Had more than a gut feeling this was bad. Just yesterday they were reporting that there would be no spill-over.
HEY! I HAVE A BRILLIANT PLAN!
THEY CAN EVACUATE EVERYONE ON THE HIGH SPEED TRAIN!
The Grand canyon was wet flood debris when it was cut through.
Roughly 4000 feet deep.
It probably took a week to make the canyon at most.
The little slot at the bottom of the canyon is cut through hard rock and has taken over 3000 years to cut just a few feet.
.
The dam is from key to key-or, where the dam is cut into the side of the hills. Any part of that breaches then the dams failed.
Doesnt matter how much of the dam remains, it failed if breached at any point of above.
county supervisor just on KRCR. He said they never kept him informed.
BS on the no-fly.
Meanwhile Gov. Moonbeam has asked President Trump for federal funds.

This is breaking news.
NOPE, that to the left of the EM spillway. There is a parking lot there that is now under water and that part of the dam IS NOT the EM spillway. The water is now running in that area where there is NO reinforced concrete. Only a road.
Go look at prior pictures of the dam before this all started.
It is getting mighty scary living here in Southern California!!!!!
Way to pimp another thread away from BREAKING NEWS!
SMH
BS? Drone monitoring at 20 points is essential right now. Gen Aviation could hit the drones, I was just saying I’m glad there’s a no-fly.

Event: Flash Flood Warning
Alert:
...A FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR A DAM FAILURE REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL
415 PM PST MONDAY FOR SOUTH CENTRAL BUTTE COUNTY... At 441 PM PST
* Flash Flood Warning for... A Dam Failure in... South central Butte
County in northern California...
* Until 415 PM PST Monday
* At 445 PM PST, Officials now anticipate a failure of the
auxiliary spillway in 60 minutes. Residents of Oroville should
evacuate in a northward direction such as towards Chico.
Other city`s should follow the orders of their local law
enforcement. Operation of the auxiliary spillway has lead to severe
erosion that has lead to a failure of the structure. Failure of the
auxiliary spillway structure will result in an uncontrolled release
of flood waters from Lake Oroville.
Immediate evacuation from the low levels of Oroville areas
downstream is ordered. From Oroville to Gridley...low level areas
around the feather river will experience rapid river rises.
This is not a Drill. This is not a Drill. Repeat this is not a
drill.
* Locations impacted include...
Oroville, Palermo, Gridley, Thermalito, South Oroville, Oroville
Dam, Oroville East and Wyandotte.
Instructions: Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
Target Area:
Butte
Many thanks for the link!!!
Isn’t that what is causing the erosion AT the spillway?
Bumper to bumper traffic leading out of town. Those orders to leave should have come hours ago.
Takes citizen ‘journalists’, abb. :)

Funny you mention that...while we were watching it this afternoon I kept having a sense this wasn’t going as it should. That erosion...
What are you watching? It’s dark now, or almost, right?
If that's the case (undermining the spillway), then it is just about imminent. A good portion of the hill will wash away.
From another thread:
They have what they expect to be an imminent failure of the axillary spillway, said Mike Smith, a spokesman for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. What theyre expecting is as much as 30 vertical feet of the top of the spillway could fail and could fail within one to two hours. We dont know how much water that means, but we do know is thats potentially 30 feet of depth of Lake Oroville.
As far as I can tell, the auxillary spillway is to the right of the spillway that had the hole and is now 3x as wide. It is up near the top of the hill. So it sounds like that is expected to fail, and will do an end-around the long spillway in your previous video.
That’s what I’ve been wondering. Will the whole lake go if that spillway fails?
