The Oroville Dam is the highest in the nation.

Why is the lake level dropping when it’s raining?
SeanD @MyAmerica120 #OrovilleSpillway #orovilledam dang you guys this is my access road to the dam. Just got this. Things are not getting better. Getting worse
ps. SeanP heading over to the Sac River after work today.
Yeah...wondered same...

The lake level is dropping because outflows are still higher than inflows. Slightly. I suspect that over the next few days, the inflows will be higher than outflows as the rain water upstream works its way down to the dam.
I wonder if they’re going to drop to 60,000 today and tomorrow to try to clear out debris at the bottom so that they can start generating again. Anything that flows through the dam reduces the amount that needs to flow through the damaged spillway, and provides electricity as a side benefit.
outflows still way above inflows
even with 11 inches of rain the next 72 hours(new ETA just in) as long as they can keep the main spillway operational they should be in good shape
Outflows may exceed inflows for a while and the lake will rise..but they have a 45 foot buffer.
What got them in trouble last time was when they increased the outflows to 70K..the main spillway got damaged and they turned it off in the pouring rain and the lake rose FAST
CURRENT DATA:
OROVILLE DAM (ORO)
It’s coming. I don’t think that the rainfall upstream has been too extreme yet, and there is a time lag between when the rain falls and the water works its way down to the reservoir.
Here’s the scanner feed I listened to yesterday.
I’ve been trying to connect for the last four hours. So far, today the scanner is “Offline”

I don’t see a date, but on that photo Sean put up it says 8:19 am...
Too soon for today..
Arfcom citizen periscope dude, ProFryan:
Saturated soil. That road is not quite near the dam, further east.
Beale AFB radar is offline:

Been that way since yesterday evening.
