Protesters applaud Ted Cruz for listening to their concerns

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz earned the praise of some fierce Democratic detractors this week when he opted to stop at a Fort Worth demonstration and talk to those protesting.

The group of about a dozen individuals toting signs critical of Donald Trump’s education secretary nominee caught Cruz’s attention as he made his way to catch a flight to D.C.

Local Democratic Party leader Leah Payne said she was “surprised” by the conservative senator’s willingness to interact personally with protesters.

Why don't you just stop these vengeful tirades. Cruz painted himself into an unsupportable position, when his campaign became desperate in early 2016. There is no doubt about that; nor does that error, driven by emotion then, destroy his ability to work with us, now & in the future.

Live up to your own promise, and go forward accordingly:

I will argue my point with anyone, but when the thread is done I will start off fresh with you on another, no ill will carried over.

Enough said.

I will not give Tead a pass on this.

I’m not following you personally around thread to thread, hounding you over something that happened on another thread.

There simply isn’t an excuse for what Tead did last year.

Look how far gone our nation is after two Obama terms. Imagine how much further gone it would have been if Hillary had been elected to one and possibly two terms.

Tead hurt us at the convention. There’s no getting around what he pulled for months on end.

I cannot have trust in this person, and if I remained silent now about what he did, I’d be no batter than him remaining silent on Clinton and refusing to help try to defeat her with all his might.

It’s not over the top to remind folks, the whole planet, modern civilization was on the line.

Tead just couldn’t be bothered.

We cannot allow men like that in a leadership or judging position.

Fair enough, perhaps I did miss YOUR point.

There are a number of folks here who consider me one for harping on what Tead pulled last year.

Sorry I included you among them by mistake.

I’m not soured on Cruz. He’s super smart and conservative too. He also held off from attacking Trump at the start when all the RINOs thought it was all so funny. He and Trump got into it later when they were the only two serious candidates remaining, but that was petty stuff. I would happily have supported a President Cruz.

I couldn’t have voted for him and I won’t be able to vote for him in the future if he gets nominated for President.
He is not a natural born citizen.

He and Trump were basically allies early on, they appeared at that one rally together against the Iran treaty, one also can find articles speaking of backroom discussions between the two. A so-called Bromance, stronger than just holding off attacking Trump.

I think Cruz is courting publicity but there is nothing inherently wrong with this. Right now, Senators such as Tom Cotton are up and coming as well.

Cruz, Gowdy, Sessions and Lee and a few others all seem fairly reliable per having a conservative vote. I’m not out to flatter any of them, it just seems they are largely solid in their views.

Why do you keep spelling Cruz’ name “Tead”?

He’s a reliable conservative vote, that’s all I count on. As far as I’m concerned, he sounds like he listens to Rush and echos the same views. I do too. Rush showed a lot of us something, the doctor of democracy.

“don’ know if Cruz has said he’d be interested in being SCOTUS.”

In an interview a couple weeks ago, he said he isn’t interested in SCOTUS — wants to stay in Senate. (FWIW.)

I’ve started spelling his name Tead Curz.

He’s politically Tead to me.

I believe he’s a curz to our side of the isle.

Folks are very impressed with him right now. They convince themselves this is the real Tead.

They don’t think that last year when the chips were down, that was the real Tead.

Yes it was.

I listen to Rush every day. He has made a Huge impact on educating the public on democracy, for sure!
I voted for Cruz in the primary and would have voted for him for President. I was dissapointed like many that he didn’t come aboard and support Trump after Trump was nominated, but Ted is a true conservative and I will do everything in my power to help him hold his senate seat!!

I was all in for Cruz initially. Then I realized that his original platform, on which he launched his presidential bid, didn’t address the wide open border, illegal-invader crime, or our loss of national sovereignty.

Well, I see that your name summarizes your intellect

I’m addressing the consummate dickhead that couldn’t have cared less if Hillary Clinton won or not last year.

Yes, Yes, Yes, we all know you are a dickhead - time for you to return to DU

Someone was kind enough to send me the link to Cruz’ opening speech, in which he announced his candidacy. It was sent to me as evidence that he made an issue of illegals/the open border. When I pointed out that neither was mentioned at all, the sender said, ‘But it’s such a great speech, I thought you’d enjoy it.’

Sure DanZ, and I’m sure you think all Conservatives should have acted like dickhead Tead Curz did last year.

Where would we be now big fella?

You don’t have an answer for that do you.

Is that where Tead was? D.U.?
