Meet Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch's ultra-liberal church St. John's Episcopal Church is led by a pastor who proudly attended the anti-Trump Women's March in Denver the day after the President's inauguration Rev. Susan Springer has said she is pro-gay marriage and offers blessings to same-sex couples Another member of the clergy is outspoken about the need for gun control The church's Rev. Ted Howard also signed a letter slamming the 'disrespectful rhetoric' directed at Islam as Trump floated a ban on Muslim immigrants Church authorities also appear to be strongly in favor of environmental initiatives and added solar panels to the roof because of 'climate crisis' If Gorsuch is confirmed, he will renew the Supreme Court's Christian majority and join as the only non-Catholic member

I’m beginning to think Trump should pull this Judge.
Here is discussion on Gorsuch PROS and CONS

Count me in the troubled column. Unless this Supreme Court Justice wanna be believes in ONE God . . .God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit and believes in the inerrancy of the Holy Scriptures, then all you have is another empty suit on the bench with no yielding to Divine Authority. “Man-made” is what has gotten us in the mess we are in today. I sincerely hope that President Trump realizes this along with his advisors.
So, how do we get the message to the Trump circle?
Quite apart from the “no true Scotsman” fallacy at work in your post...many lifelong conservatives were “inherited” by the Episcopal Church when it went leftward. I grew up in it, my father was a longtime Episcopalian...he ultimately pulled my family out of the church in the 90s. (He took the big leap, and went Greek Orthodox.)
I can still recite the Episcopal Mass from memory, I miss it dearly...but I would never attend Mass there again. That said, as I observed firsthand, when you’ve got family events, weddings, funerals etc. tied up in a church community, it can be hard to pull the pin.
I’m very disappointed in this selection.
That PROS and CONS article I listed below has some very good points in it.
He sounds like he will be anti-gun too.
I don’t trust him. That being said, CNN is the “source”? It’s probably completely taken out of context. He could have been talking about Trump, the judges or the situation. They don’t actually quote him but for those two words. It’s like Trump/NYTimes stories immediately following the election. We were led to believe that Trump suddenly became a globalist who was starting to get on board the Climate crap and was considering keeping Obamacare. A lot of it is tone and context and if that isn’t properly reflected you can make up a whole lot of fake news. I’ll listen to his answers live without the spin and then i’ll decide but his church is shady. Bad start.
From the article I listed above:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/02/08/donald-trump-dismisses-travel-ban-hearing-politics-us-waits/
“Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee has called the president’s attacks on the judiciary “disheartening” after Mr Trump went after the appeals court considering his travel ban.
Neil Gorsuch has only just been nominated for the court, but defended the federal judges that have become targets of Mr Trump’s ire.”
Right at the moment, I recon the closes thing I could be called is a Catholic. Don’t subscribe to this Pope’s teachings AT ALL.
He has sources all over...don’t worry, President Trump is on top of things...
"I am the way...?" Humph. Sounds homophobic.
But there are many 'piskies who disregard all that as just posturing, and retain their faith. Let's hope Gorsuch is one such.
Blumenthal may be lying.
I must agree the more l read the worse it is. It’s looking like a terrible pick and I don’t see ANY chance of stopping it. 2nd amendment weak, pro life not really, dudes will be in girls locker rooms, AGW is real. It is a real disappointment we’re screwed.
We weren’t looking forward to a confirmation of societal homosexualism either. First Tillerson and his endorsement of it in the Boy Scouts, and now this.
Some cause for concern to me.
I send my preschooler to an Episcopalian school.
The headmaster is a flaming (but closeted) homo in the vein of Charles Nelson Reilly, and I’m pretty sure the married rector is a homo too.
And this is the conservative Episcopalian school in our city. There’s a more liberal one.
Since he was raised in the Epicopal church there is a familiarity that the ritual provides. I don’t here many here at FR demand that Roman Catholics leave their churches.
God meets people where they are and provides a way. I would say that Trump is ample proof of that.
I thought I could do that too, at one time. But then I thought about what I was giving my money to, and walked away. Anglican churches are around if you look for them.
That’s a good place to start yes
Can’t afford to make a mistake on something as significant as a Supreme Court Justice pick. Whoa Nelly. Trust but verify.
