Interesting. No diplomatic immunity? Would this be happening if Trump were not in the White House?
We should implement that here. Singapore has its act together.
It is interesting. Saudi diplomats, and also visiting princes, are used to going their length in any situation, in any place, with no consequences.
In theory, he does not have diplomatic immunity because his posting is to China, not Singapore.
He sounds as if he needs a good caning.
If he’s accredited in China, diplomatic immunity does not apply in Singapore. Let the cane sing!
Singapore is a very nice place to visit. You walk around the busy city streets. Everything is bustling, but everything is safe. There are numerous different areas for various ethnic groups. One can get any type of cuisine, and type of clothing.
I've read that a person who has diplomatic immunity can be subjected to the laws in the country in which he/she is serving if his/her government agrees to it.Don't know if it's true or not but it made sense when I read it.
Wonder if this would work in Berkeley?
Seems to be a lot of folks needing to get whacked around.
I remember the Brits pronouncing it “Sing-ga-pore” in a James Bond movie.
Like “Long G-island.”
My best friend, guitarist Neil Zaza, played in Singapore. He loved the place!

I spent a week or so in Singapore a few years ago. It's a big, modern city that,I believe,is very densely populated. It's very clean, very orderly...much more so than Hong Kong (which I've also visited).
The flip side is that things are tightly regulated there.Everywhere you look there are signs saying things like "$200 fine for littering".There's a fine for everything little thing.
There are lots of laws/regulations...and they enforce them. The result is a place that's rather impressive.
IMO
This should be interesting.......
For the Arab miscreant, this will put an extra degree of sting into each stroke.
Irrelevant because this diplomat serves in China, not Singapore. He was on vacation. He is not accredited to the govt of Singapore, so he would not have diplomatic immunity in Singapore anyway.
That’s horribly funny! Like horrible and funny mixed. What a world we live in.
Don’t worry Bill,we’re going to get around to dealing with you too.
“Interesting. No diplomatic immunity?”
Not a diplomat to Singapore. It pays to read the article.
husband asked if I would go to Singapore for his work with him. I said hell no because of their justice system. Too effed up.
