I never understood how she and Scalia came to be best of friends on a personal level.

“I never understood how she and Scalia came to be best of friends on a personal level.”

Scalia was a good person. Ginsburg has always struck me as a mean spirited, intolerant person.

I’m not sure I’d actually believe this. He was too astute to actually become “friends” with someone who is non compos mentis. If anything he felt pity for her.

One of the reasons that although I think her opinions horrible, I have to admire her as a person. I mean she was able to do 20 pushups at the age of 80. I think she’ll be around for a while. Wow... so far she has survived two of the most lethal cancers out there. If I had been her I would have retired when Obama had the Senate. But hey, I retired at 67 and can’t even do one push up.

They’re all buddies. All leftists and rightists all over D.C. That’s one of our problems. They all like each other and value each other’s opinions.
I have not one liberal friend left. For one reason or another I’ve cut them all out of my life. Simply because they infuriate me or they do something really stupid, sometimes to me. The friendships never lasted because they’re all plain nuts.

I always wondered that too. He wasn't shy in his rulings calling her out.

To be so close, going on vacations together and everything else, to me it says Scalia could separate Ginsburg's politics and leftists psychosis from her personality. He found something in her. I have no idea what it was.

Yeah, if true..in fact I couldn’t imagine being friends with any of the far left extremists. They make a mockery of the judicial system and lord knows, they don’t know squat about the law, esp The Wise Latina

Just guessing, but I bet he made it his personal mission to charm the old bat, and she couldn’t resist him.

Maybe because we are all human and made in the image of God and Scalia understood that? I don't know but just maybe there are things more important than the affairs of men on this earth.
