TRAVIS COUNTY, TEXAS - The Travis County Jail released 37 undocumented immigrant inmates on bond Wednesday, inmates who under an old policy would have been held if requested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Travis County Sheriff’s Spokeswoman Kristin Dark said there were 191 undocumented immigrant inmates under ICE detainer requests on Feb. 1, when Sheriff Sally Hernandez’s policy went into effect. ICE agents asked the county to detain five undocumented immigrants who were arrested Wednesday, but the sheriff’s office declined both requests under the new policy. The sheriff’s office also declined an ICE request to be informed when four other undocumented immigrants were released from the jail.
Hernandez’s new policy states it will comply with ICE detainer requests if the inmate is being held on murder, sex assault or human trafficking charges

THe Texas legislature pushed by the Governor are passing laws allowing the governor to remove such officials.
Sessions at DOJ will have a plan to go in and have FEDS review local law enforcement departments refusing to act in accordance with law and protecting citizens,
Individual liability for acts committed by public officials.

So illegals that are jail for “minor” crimes like assualt, B&E, drug running, gang activity, DUI, etc. are out on bond. It isn’t much of a leap to expect these career criminals to advance to the “major” crime category unfortunatey to the detriment of innocent persons. In the meantime they can create mayhem by commiting additional “minor” crimes.
As far taking action against the criminal sheriff, that would be by the Federal Justice department. Right now it is leaderless and full of Obama appointees including US attorneys. As furious as law-abiding citizens are, her time of accountability will come with new AG Sessions at the helm.

You’re right! I should have said county. But lawsuits against any city, county, state harboring illegals would be a wake up call to insurers, taxpayers, and pols.

Instead of trying to force these local taxpayers to pay for enforcing federal laws, you and all the enforcement only goof-heads should be willing to spend the money(your money) to enforce the law.
There-in lies the problem: You and many others say all these problems can be solved by spending more and more money on enforcement. Over the last 17 years, lots of enforcement money has been spent, but you have nothing to show for it. Now you want Mexico to pay for it. Now you want locals to pay for it.

She should be arrested on charges of national security since she is endangering our national security by ignoring laws meant to protect us from unknown and unwelcome illegals. She should also be housed indefinitely at Gitmo with her civil rights suspended due to her crimes against America.
